how many of the people on here would be opened minded to other regions of music like they expect them to be to bay music? if you from the bay, would you be on a underground South messageboard cuz you was feelin their music? or would you automatically dismiss it cuz it aint from your region?

..just wondering

Im really feelin the Bay, even though there iz so much slang that I dont know what it means most of the time, but truthfully....I like the ol 90s mobb era. I thank the comps that were puttin out that time too cause it had alot of variety artist N styles comin from The Bay. Im gettin used to the new style of The Bay but dont focus on the gangsta shit but also the orig. hiphop style likes Zion I, Living Legends, Hiero camp, Rasco N Planet Asia.
I love the fact its all Ndependent!! Makes a sense that even I can do Nything Ndependent. WHEN I get a chance to work N a music Nvironment (radio or stores) I would definitely help push The Bay.
If its on radio, most likely Im not feelin it. The Bay!!

It's a movement... outsiders love our music like we love our music, but if we don't hit em with a constant source, and do promotions in those regions we can easily be forgot about. I was turned out on Nas and Wu-Tang by my cuzo from Berkely. My Vega's nigga put me up on Jay-Z and T.I before they received the level of sucess they have. It's not that peaple "don't" like Bay/Nor Cal music...they just don't understand it. You can't give a outsider sum Keak, E-40, Mac Dre with out instructions on how it works. That's like giving a Bay nigga sum Screw'd music without the Sizzzzzurp. That's exactly why some of ya'll don't like the "Laffy Taffy" song... you don't understand that region. I been to ATL with a shitload of Nor Cal music & weed, for a music conference featuring artist from Cinncinati, St. Louis, Alabama, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Missisippi, Miami, etc. They loved that shit...but I also got a chance to love and understand a lot of their shit too. I swear to you...that welcome to ATL (Luda & JD) was my week while I was there. I got 16 bars on my cuzo's album, and they had me signing autographs off of that. Lil kids, Mama's, grinders, (shout out to the thick white girl working at Hooters in Greenbriar Mall) all wanted autographs stating that almost famous people come thru all the time, and the next week they are famous. So with that being said, wait to put them Diamonds in ya grill or Dubs on that scraper, get a plane ticket, take yo promotional materials and do it movin. An unpromoted album is throwing it to the sharks. Cant expect the pronunciation of your name, album art, or the features you put on front to sell your shit. I posted before that my lil 13 year old cuzo knew who "ya Boy" was soon as I played the video. You would swore "Ya Boy" had a video on BET/MTV the way this yung'n pointed him out. That's big to me... when a lil homie who doesnt rap, have a computer, or be in the Bay knows who the next up artist are. We on this site all day talking about our albums, someone should start asking all these out state posters to post up info on mom & pop shops, retailers, venues, radio stations, and clubs in their ares that support the movement. Then go do a promotinal tour/demonstration of Goin Dumb, Getting Stupid, Doin the Dummy, riding the Yellow Bus, Hijacking The Paratransit(I made that one up just now... don't steal it or I'ma make a thread about it), Thizz, Hyphy, etc. On top of that... "The Bay" needs to stop segregatin who's bay and who's not, and focus on Nor Cal...because 2 of the biggest stars (Mac Dre & Keak) re-started their careers in Sac(The Valley). How you gone shit on those who support you, but bitch when they don't?

people dont know who the artist is and they dont give the song a chance (very stupid), and we got so much slang out here they cant follow it (fuck em). I'm from the bay and i love this shit, but i give others regions a chance, if its good i bump it. Bay rap is the best in my mind, and people think that we think we are the shit and its because we are....plain and simple!
