The first fight I saw was the lazcano fight. I thought he was gonna win, but turned out he got beat down pretty serio.

Anyone coulda guessed hopkins was gonna mop that guy. If he didn't have 15 mill waitin on that de la hoya fight, it woulda been much worse.

I feel like De la hoya lost, even tho I was going for him to win. That fool sturn is an excellent fighter, but if he had any type of power, oscar woulda got his ass beat. I can see how the judges gave oscar the fight, but I thought if he won at all, the score cards should've been closer than they were, and not a unanimous decision.

Do y'all think that de la hoya is crazy for wanting to fight hopkins after watching this fight?

I didn't catch the fights but it looks like the decision was scored 115-113, which is pretty close even thought it was a unanimous decision.

I heard Oscar landed a lot of body punches that people didn't catch.
I also heard he finished strong.
I gotta wait to see it this weekend but I do know that Associated Press scored it 114-114
and I think the AP always has it right....

the reason I said I can see why they gave him the fight, is because of the body punches, he was wailing on sturn's body, BUT, sturn was pretty much unaffected by the body shots. He had far more energy than de la hoya, which regardless of the amount of punches sturn threw, you would think that the amount of body punches landed by de la hoya would've taken the wind out of him by the 10th if they had done any damage.

Thats cool that I see some people justifying Oscar's win.
There are always people blowing it out of proportion, saying it was a mad bunk call. So I just gotta see it for myself.

I havent seen the fight yet, I'll see the replay on HBO.

I heard Oscar got messed up, and that the Hopkins fight was boring.

July 24 is when the real sh goes down.

Way Uneven....

I was going for De La Hoya, but he got his ass whooped. He was getting stuck with hard jabs the whole fight. His body shots were completely uneffective on Sturm. Sturm even stuck him a couple times, to the point where DLH had to hurry up grab Sturm, and make sure he couldn't get hit anymore, till he got his balance back. DLH couldn't get past Sturm's guard, and Sturm had DLHs face torn the fuck up. The judges just did what they had to do in order for the DLH - Hopkins fight to happen. Watch DLH after they say he's the winner, look at how confused he looks. Then the interview, where he says how everything went wrong. He knows he lost that fight....

But fuck it... DLH lost against Trinidad on an unfair judgement, and lost to Moseley twice on unfair judgements. So, that kinda makes it even. Then again, Whitacker lost to DLH on an unfair judgement way back...
