No disrespec to BIG... but I never understood what the hype about him was. I think it was mostly because the West had Pac and the east needed their spokesperson, and at the time BIG was hot.. then of course, BIG gets murdered after Pac, so he's labeled a legend.

But in my opinion, Nas and Jay-Z were both better lyricists then BIG and spoke on a wider vareity of topics, made more creative songs, and had better flows.

Since we're analyzing rhymes there is one line by Jay-Z that I still don't understand. It's from the song 99 Problems- "This is not a hoe in the sense of having a pussy but a pussy having no God Damn sense, try and push me."

My friend thinks Jay-Z is a genius for writing this line but I don't see why besides switching pussy and sense around in a sentence.

he is basically saying "i'm not calling her a ho because she is a woman (which obviously has a pussy), i am calling her a ho because she has no sense (and uses her pussy poorly)"

basically it's the whole "woman vs. bitches/hoes" argument

it's a decent line, but it's been said before in better ways...Jay-Z is overrated as fuck

See Pac's rhymes are intricate.

mama told me never stop until I bust a nut
(by itself it means just what it says his mom told him to not stop fucking until he busted a nut)
Fuck the world if they can't adjust
(It's very important that he used the verb fuck. He could have said Forget the world but he purposely used the word fuck. See his mom said don't stop fucking until he nuts and then he says if the world can't adust FUCK them. So these lines are connected. He isn't just saying fuck the world if they can't adjust but he gives you the visual that he's not gonna stop fucking the world until he busts a nut.)
This analysis was brought to u in part by the letter K. And also by Vax-D...Got back pain? Get Vax-D.

That was some in-depth and educated shit right there. Major props homie. I'm tired now.

he's talkin bout shooting sum1

Now once upon a time, not too long ago
A nigga like myself had to strongarm a hoe
This is not a hoe in the sense of havin a pussy
But a pussy havin no God damn sense, try an' push me
I try to ignore him, talk to the Lord
Pray for him, but some fools just love to perform
You know the type, loud as a motorbike
But wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight
And only thing that's gon' happen is I'ma get to clappin and
he and his boys gon' be yappin to the Captain
And there I go, trapped in the Kit-Kat again
Back through the system with the riff-raff again
Fiends on the floor, scratchin again
Paparazzis with they cameras, snappin them
D.A. try to give a nigga shaft again
Half a mill' for bail cause I'm African
All because this fool was harassin them

Tryin to play the boy like he's saccharin
But ain't nuttin sweet bout how I hold my gun
I got 99 problems being a bitch ain't one - hit me!

he see's how money an change man ..to do things he wouldnt normaly do. kinda stuff that would seem out of character...PAC knew this is somehting that effects everyone..so he was sayin he didnt wanna let the money change him..(like he alledges biggie did)but in sum interview a few friends say his deathrow fame did kinda steer him off course and he acted out of character having money and not really respecting people like he used too

^ its true, pac said it himself many times, that the fame and money will change any man. He's even admitted to it altering his own perception in life, but the difference is, that Pac was conscious of this change, while others were totally blinded and consumed by the materialistic things in our world
