Sac/Central Cali:
151--CODE OF THE STREETS--amazingly consistent from start to finish. Nuff said.
Brotha Lynch--LYNCH BY INCH--Lynch can still murder most other rappers lyrically! People have been bitching about the production, but in' 97, there were folks who thought LOADED was garbage, and look at that CD's rep six years later. That's likely to be the case with LBI in a few years. Comes creative as ever, IMHO.
T-Nutty--LAST OF THE FLOWHICANS--a varied set of reality raps touching different topics, and Nutty uses different styles (when he needs to) to complement the features. This grows on me the more I hear it.
Hollow Tip--TAKIN' NO SHORTS VOL. 2--this isn't as much of a return to the "old Hollow" as Nelsiano wants us to think, but at least he's back to spittin' street shit, and the production is better than it was on 2SAV or THUG STATUS. He should have narrowed the number of songs down to twenty instead of twenty-four (not counting the skits, which were OK), but still, a step in the right direction.
Then, from the Bay:
U.D.I.--THE HANGOVER
JT--PROJECT POETRY (his best solo in years)
Rydah J. Clyde--FLY GANGSTA
PSD--U AIN'T HEARD OF ME?!?
Dubee-TURFMATIC (grew on me after a few listens)
Game Inflikted--THE CHRONICLES
The Done Deal Mixtape
Big Rigg--650 Bay Affiliated (he still has a way to go with his solo tracks, but he shows promise. The makings are there if he keeps working on it).
PEACE!
