everybody is late. a long time ago friday nights big von & dj scotty fox was doin "hip hop chop shop" and they was playin bay area classics. i remember i turned the radio on (back then i never listened to the radio cuz bay slaps were never on) and i heard Dre Dog "Smoke Dope And Rap". WTF? on the radio!? shit so i kept the radio on and the slaps just kept coming.
every friday I tuned in and then eventually, they got the "on the block" show. bay area radio. thats when the bay rap had their own radio show. they gave bay rappers the opportunity to send their music in and get it played on the radio. that shit was like the best thing to happen to the radio in years. not to mention the "bay area big shot" contest they had going too.
then you also had 95live doin the online radio show with the bay area hits too.
by the way, mac dre's "thizzelle washington" album was the one that set it off for his hyphy shit. songs on that album didnt get in the radio rotation until like a year/4albums later (do your research bitches).
p.s. who remembers "THE NEW BAY" having beef with the "OLD BAY" ie delinquents & yukmouth. haha now look at it.
