I know the heavy independent scene they have in Houstan cats is selling over 100,000 independently......Knowing that the Bay has a richer independent scene, i'm curious to know what cats are selling in the Bay......100

I wanna say the top guys in the buy sell like 15-50k on their official releases. But your average bay major rapper drops like 5 side albums and mixtapes a year too that prolly sell a couple thousand a piece. people download too much out here, my little sister is up on hella bay shit but i never saw her buy a CD in her life.

i think this is one of the dumbest posts ive ever read. i stay silent on this board, but just had to respond to this idiot. please please stay in school.

the population of the bay area is roughly 6.5 million. no rappers in the bay have sold over 20k in the last 2-3 years, except E40. Anyone who tells you different is lying.

Most rappers coming out now sell less than 5000.

U should slap the shit out of your sister. Then erase all the bay tracks she has on her computer. Or the ones she's burned onto cd. That's some bullshit. I hate that when peeps be doing that.

I call bullshit on that. If there's supposedly 1 million people in Texas, and they're selling 100k independent, that means 1 out of every 10 people are buying albums. Every 10 people, meaning, babies, 12 year old girls, and senior citizens. Saying there's 1 mil people in texas makes you sound like an ignorant dumbass.

Andre Nikatina, MD, Mess, Keak, and Quinn are the best selling independent artist doin it in the bay. I Think they push anywhere from 15,000-20,000 an album, no where near a 100K tho.

^^^True, but again that was 8 years ago, and downloading wasnt big at all then.

Why do Bay artist sales kept quiet on this sight, even from label CEO's who post here. Makes me think guys in the Bay are selling even less than we think.
