They were both the prodigies of their regions in the early 90's, made some questionable business decisions and weathered the storm to have decent / good careers but not quite living up to the original hype. That was my basis.

No way is 40 on Jay-Z's level or status, Snoop would be a better comparison. But a lot of those were on point. It would be more accurate if you were doing Bay and the South.
