July 3rd I got my first DUI :( the cold part is that I was in my driveway I literally turned my car off opened my door and BAM they lit me up. I passed half of the field sobriety test and stumbled a little bit. At that point I just said fuck it and put my hands behind my back. They took me to the station and wanted me to blow. I refused cuz I figgured why incriminate myself even more? So yeah I mean I'm lucky I got out the next morning being that it was on a Friday and they coulda kept me all weekend. So now I got $2,000 in fines on top of all the money imma have to pay for classes.... I'm feeling hella bad and depressed since it happened. But luckily its my first one and I have no criminal record. And at least I didn't get into an accident u feel me? But I'm kinda curious? I have court Monday..... So is there anyone who's got they're first DUI that can gimme an idea of how long its gonna take? Or any helpful advice they can gimme? Cuz I am really streasin this shit. But I mean theres always good that comes from bad and maybe this is a wakeup call.... Also imma quit drinking and smoking on Monday so today I'm gettin BENT than a mu fucka!!!!

damn that sucks. i plead no contest to my 1st offense & got a $600 fine & 6month license suspension. i really felt down 4 awhile after it also. im scared 2 drink now incase i blackout & my autopilot desides 2 go 4 a spin. dont feel bad, my homie just got his 7th on fri.

so I mean seeings how I refused to blow and they have no proof of how drunk I really was other than the cops word and me failing the walking test should I just plead no contest aswell??

actually im not sure. i hired a lawyer & tried 2 fight it on grounds of it was a bullshit stop. i lost the dismissal hearing & my lawyer advised me 2 plead no contest cuz it was my 1st & id get minimum everything. just call a lawyers office, most will give u free advice if they think u mite hire them. theyll tell u if its worth fighting or what not. im no expert but i assume wit a clean record youll get the minimum punishment.

^^^^^ roflmfao my folks said the saaaaaame thing LOL. Oh well my records clean its my first charge as an adult and I think I'll be straight as long as I just handle shit like a responsible 21 year old....

PMKON no bullshit, if you get a lawyer, you will only get reckless driving. No comm. service, u wont go to court, they will go for you. You will get fines and DUI school, but reckless driving looks way better than DUI & no jail time. Either way ur fucked financially tho, i pay so much for insurance its ridiculous. Thats in the bay tho, i dont know about up there.

Dude they cant arrest you if you made it to your driveway. It's private property and you were off a publice road.

I had a cop stop me once. I only had like one block to go to get home. So I kept going. I made it to my house and he asked me some questions but told me since I was on private property and not a city road he couldnt do anything.

You need to bring that up in court. The cops probably used your street and address as the point you were stopped on you ticket. When in reality you had already gotten home and the vehicle was stopped.

Had you ran into your house and ditched your keys. They woulda had nothin.

That sucks dawg. I would be super pissed.

Were they following you or what?

refusing to blow is an automatic 1 year suspension on your license in california and you still get charged with the DUI, not too sure how it goes in Oregon. If you were trying to beat the case you should have refused to blow on the field and did a blood test when you got to the station to buy yourself some time since a cop or a C.O. isn't gonna do that shit and they would have to get a staff nurse to do it.

running in the house would have done you no good since they already had you for at least speeding and possible reckless driving, doubling the speedlimit in most states is considered a misdemenor. If it was just a suspicion of drunk driving you woulda possibly been alright. But naw you are fucked, i'm surprised they didn't have you face down for avading the police for how fast you were driving in a resedential area

I had a friend beat a DUI out in Sac cuz the nearest station was hella far away and by the time he got there he blew under an .08.

I got a DUI 2 years ago and believe me the shit sucks, If I've been drinking I usually stay at a friends house and don't drive. that shit fucks your life up with the fines and classes and shit. I'm glad all my shit is done and paid for

i eat so much snacks and food in the car that drinking is damn near undetectable by the time im pulled over and i just act like im stoned, so..

you gotta know your limit i guess

every fucking time ive beenpulled over ive had a few beers in me...but its just a regular thing to me..i drink, eat, wait till i reach a coo level to drive then continue...been drinking too long to get faded by the pos

i think if it happened i still wouldnt stop id just be more cautious, as i am now..imma ride with luck..fuck it
