Stocks, mutual funds, MMA's, etc.

There are many ways to invest money. And if you can't do it for yourself, invest for your children to ensure they aren't broke when they grow up.

For example, I have an account set up for my son...since he was about a month old. Keep poppin' money in (even in small amounts), and in 18 years he's going to have a cool amount of cash for college or whatever he decides to do with it...thanks to interest.

I bought stocks with unemployment money a couple years ago and it has since quadrupled.
What if the stock market crashes? I personally don't have any trust in anything that deals with money.

I believe some rough times lie ahead. Worse than 2008. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a great war.

white people arent getting richer, this shit is bullshit

the rich are getting richer. the richest people just happen to be white.

race is an illusion, this is a wealth and social issue. this article is a great distraction from the true problem, the rich getting richer, and only serves to further divide and instigate tensions between the poor. this bullshit belongs on mediatakeout.com or worldstarhiphop or some other ignorant site

This is a great post.

The article is confusing correlation and causation.

Rich black people got richer. Poor white people got poorer.

I'm not too worried about that right now. It's possible the market could crash again, but the market always rebounds. Stocks are definitely a gamble, but well worth it if you know how to play the market.

Day trading is risky...holding it is always a good idea.

This. The rich are getting richer, and a bunch of people are broke as fuck now or barely middle class. White, black, Asian, etc. etc. etc.

And I'm not cool with the way they misuse the word WEALTH! If they want to talk about assets, that's one thing...but to use the word WEALTH just fucks up the article and confuses people. I have a house, a car, and not too much cash. So am I wealthy? lol. How 'bout worth? Or value?

no need to get defensive, nothing wrong with taking advantage of being born white in the U.S.A.
Are you white? If not, I just want you to know there is no such thing as a "white privilege"...but there is such a thing as "privileged whites".

When all my non-white friends have jobs and I've been looking for one for 3 fuckin' years, you can't tell me I'm privileged or have an advantage because I'm white. I wasn't born with a heavy bank account...I remember eating the same shit for months at a time because pops couldn't retain a solid job.

I've just been fortunate enough to have a brain. I knew how to use a credit card at 16 without being an idiot...so I pumped my credit score up. I also learned how to save money because I knew what it was like to not have any.

And I know I'm not the only one in this position. I know plenty of white folks who are damn near eating dirt right now.

most americans live beyond their means, regardless of income

most of us are in debt regardless, and if you aint...be glad you arent

keep it that way

secondly most of us got a solid 30 years to enjoy our money anyway

heart disease and cancer arent very indiscriminate right now

one side may be at bigger risk but life isnt permanent regardless

I've filled out many applications on-line and make it a point to always choose white when it asks...it's not required, but I figure my chances of getting them to look at my resume are better.

I work in the legal field and most people are white so.....

Even if you aren't white...if your name could pass for being white...might as well just pick it...you aren't gonna see the person until you come in for an interview anyway.

I always do the little race thing when it asks...not because I think it will benefit me, but because it asks. It took me 3 years to get a fuckin' interview. In recent weeks, I had applied to maybe 30 or 40 jobs per week.

I FINALLY got a gig...making less than I'm worth because the economy is fucked and companies want to fuck people out of money...because they can.

It asks but you don't have to answer. I don't know what you do but maybe it's taking long cause there are a million people applying for the same job.

I will put down whatever I think will benefit me...why not?

I know you don't have to, but I do anyway just because. I finally landed a gig though after my first interview. I had another interview a couple days after at a different company...dude said there were over 200 applicants and they were only interviewing 6.

It is hard out there, but it's hard for everybody...not just minorities. I think the article was kind of irresponsible because the writer did not address the real issue...just what the census reported. It's deeper than race now.
