Has anyone tried this yet? They got the HTC Vive up at this place in town and I'm thinking of checking it out. It's been awhile since I been huge into video games just because I've been hella busy with life. VR looks like its bout to revolutionize shit though. You seen these accessories they coming out with? That shit will be crazy as fuck in the next few years.

Haven't tried it myself but I always watch videos and see how things at advancing. I think it's a few years away before shit gets dope, right now there are so many games with early 2000 graphics and only a few here and there with actual modern graphics. Resident Evil 7 is the most recent one that actually looks good.

I think the PS4 VR headset will help push VR faster. It's not nearly as good as the other PC ones, but it's the most affordable and easiest to use and set up. I think that was the most important factor is making VR easily accessible rather than needing a $1500 PC plus the $500+ VR set up.

Its interesting, there might be some really good experiences you can only have on there but rn the only killer app is RE7, which you can play everywhere else regularly, VR only on PS4 tho. a lot of stuff has simple polygon graphics but they still charge $40-50 even when you get a mini games worth of content. Promising but I'd give it another few years before trying to adopt.

I had the Rift with the touch controllers. It was fun but I personally didn't have time for it.

I sold my VR setup. If you're interested go for it. The tech is not going to get better anytime soon at a price point that makes sense. The only upgrade that makes sense is a 8k screen so 4k on both eyes. Also, it has to be a minimum of 90fps to avoid motion sickness. Right now 4k at 60 fps with no drops is a challenge for PC gaming. The Vive is great but the Touch controller for the rift is more immersive.

Another reason I sold my stuff is because I knew Oculus was going to lose that lawsuit and I didn't want to lose selling power.

8k games running 90 fps is gonna be far off, even on regular gaming monitors lol. we'll def have more affordable & better designed rigs before then.
