RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick was dismissed from the team Friday, the result of numerous legal transgressions and his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Gator Bowl.

University president Charles Steger announced the dismissal on the same day that coach Frank Beamer met with Vick and his mother in their Hampton Roads home, the school said. Beamer informed them of the decision during the meeting.
Vick, the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, was criticized this week when he was caught on tape stomping the left calf of Louisville All-American Elvis Dumervil during the Hokies' 35-24 victory Monday.

Vick missed all of last season while serving a suspension from school for transgressions that included a guilty plea to a misdemeanor for giving alcohol to underage girls and, months later, a guilty plea to a reckless driving charge and a no contest plea to marijuana possession.

He'll probably go pro now that he's kicked off the team. I thought they would have suspended him for a few games, but not kick him off the team

He'll be good in the NFL if the team that picks him up gives him a season on the bench with a seasoned Quarterback starting and mentoring him.

The guy has the potential to be better then Michael Vick in my opinion if he'll keep his head on straight.
