A man wanted in a violent home invasion is behind bars, after leading police on a high speed chase. Police say John Kelley was driving so fast, they called off the pursuit and let Metro's support helicopter follow him.
During the chase there were a few close calls. The chase ended at the Orleans. Police say Kelley ran through the casino and was caught as he was trying to get in a taxi. The vehicle Kelley was driving was a stolen jeep from California, full of luggage. Robbery detectives say Kelly admits he was on his way out of town and back to southern California.
Earlier this month police say Kelley and two other men broke into an apartment near Twain and Swenson and shot a man and a woman. The woman was shot four times, the man ten times.
Both survived their injuries. The other two men police say were involved, John Napolean Domis and David Marc Poyorena, were arrested just after the robbery.
