MIAMI — Titans rookie quarterback Vince Young is going to the Pro Bowl.
Young, the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year, will replace Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers on the AFC roster. An announcement by the league is expected today.

Young was not among the first two alternates but other quarterbacks declined an invitation or are injured.

Indianapolis’ Peyton Manning and Cincinnati’s Carson Palmer are also scheduled to play in the Feb. 11 game in Honolulu.

it took people getting injured and shit.......but ill take it......

"The way he plays easily shows he will be a bust.

He got his passing yards the same way Mike Vick gets his.. By making D's scared that he may take off on them. But there's a huge difference.. Vick can dodge tackles and has NFL speed, Young cannot and does not. He will never play another game like the Rose Bowl, cuz in the NFL he won't be running any LBs over. They'll be much faster and they actually know how to tackle. Vince Young does not make good reads, and on top of that he's as dumb as a fuckin rock. He will be dealing with much more complicated defenses while trying to operate a much more complicated offense, at twice the speed of college ball. His stupidity will come into play.

He will be nothing more than a phony ass Mike Vick (who is probaly the most overrated QB in the league), only not as good."

Had to say it.

It's sounds personal pimpin, because Vince Young is gonna be puttin in work on NFL defenses for a looooong time.

thing is.......this shit has been happening for years.....pro bowl is not what it use to be......people pull out fort personal reasons.....getting elected is tight......but playing in it and putting up numbers mean nothing....so a lot of cats will pull out after they get elected

the afc pro bowlers went like this

1) peyton manning
2) Carslon palmer
3) phillip rivers (pulled out because of an injury)

altvernatives
1) tom brady (unkown reason)
2) steve mcnair (pulled out just so vince young can play...note that him and VY are very good friends and air mac is still his mentor)
3) vince young (now going to the probowl)
4) jp losman

Yeah, I was wrong in saying he would not be able to run on NFL defenses, but as a passer he sucks. Go back and watch the games or check the stats.. He doesn't deserve to be there.. He's getting credit for "carrying" the Titans, but people obviously did not watch the games.

I have come to realize I was wrong about how successful Vince Young will be in the NFL. He made a nice impact for a rookie, but I feel he is getting too much credit for the "success" the Titans had this year. His passing game was average at best, but he did create some great plays with his legs. I now see he will be a good QB for many years and I do see him getting better and having success in the NFL..

That being said.. The reason I say he doesn't deserve to be there is because he was not as deserving as Brady, McNair, Rivers.. I understand they are not going because of their own choices (with the exception of Rivers) but the fact that 3 people had to be taken out of the picture in order for him to be named should tell you something. He will now have a Pro Bowl appearance under his belt only because of other players not wanting/being able to go.

Maybe I'm being too harsh, but that's just how I feel.

bro im a titans fan and i feel the same way.....dont take thsi thread as me jumpin up and down sayin YES.....i know it took luck/bullshit happening......but i was just informing yall....and VYs stats have nothing to do with what he does.......he has never put up real nice looking stats its just his will and determination to WIN THE GAME that i like......he is the most competive person in the leauge right now...in a way that is bad and good.....when the titans lose he blames it all on himself.......he will be so pissed off at that one first down he didnt make.....you should really read some of his interviews....dudes competiveness is unmatched by any NFL player i have seen....after the new england loss at the end of the season (if the titans won they would of been in the playoffs) he sat at his locker for 8 fuckin hours.......head down after everyone left for 8 hours....i mean what kind of shit is that......good or not its just crazy

My girl is a Titans fan (don't ask me why) so I watch a lot of their games with her since I love football. I want them to succeed, I just didn't think Vince Young was as good as the people are saying he was. I'm not trying to hate on him because he did surprise me by doing as well as he did, but I just feel he's getting too much credit. A lot of those wins they got were a team effort to the maximum, but people are just focusing on Vince Young. A lot of it has to do with the fact that he is a rookie and I understand that..

Anyway, I wish him and the Titans the best. Good luck next season with your team..

well "team" effort in your eyes might be a lil diffrent from what i see....because are overall defense is the worst in the leauge (other then scoring defense which we were second)......our offense just did major things with out a true #1 WR......partly due to travis henrys break out year...if we give vince a number one target and a burner to strech the field.....its going to be hard to pass on the titans like so many people have been...our o line is highly undertated with young studs liek roos and stewart....we have one of the best TE tandems plus one in (kinney, bo scaife, ben troupe *still waiting on ben troupes break out year.....he was injured more then half the year this year and not a biased point but dude has the abiltys and hands to be the next antonio gates*).......we need a solid pass rusher through FA and a corner on the other side of pac.....if we get this and adress our FS situation titans will be a force.....PERIOD
