So if Jimmy Iovine or Clive Davis got knocked out, it'd be just as big a deal right?

if you dont understand the relevance of this little episode youre missing the point on so many levels its beyond "amusing"...even for a smug hipster caucazoid square who hates on drum loops.

1. fase is the game's brother
2. fase was fuckin with spider, his brothers arch nemesis by association
3. fase brought crips to the block.to shoot a video.for a song with the word "BLUTIFUL" it the title.
4. fase got walloped..on camera.. and did nothing

its not just "a guy gettin punched in the street" obviously..

but to answer your question, yes if jimmy iovine was talkin out the side of his neck about say..steve rifkind and he confronted him at some hamptons party and knocked him out on camera, there would be a thread about that too!

Hats off to you for knowing the sub-plot to this soap opera. You sir are very cool and the budding paparazzi on this site thank you.

lol @ this dude. What does 'hating on drum loops' even mean?

I'm not missing the point. I'm pointing out how stupid "the point" (this thread) is. Wow, Game's brother got punched.

You nimrods go ga-ga over all of this sensationalized bullshit that has nothing to do with the music itself. It's all about fame association, and not music. These mufuckas might never actually put out an album but you'll follow every move they make because of their relationship with Game and giggle the whole way. If that's what entertains you, then the fact that that entertains you, amuses me because that sort of stuff caters to the lowest common denominator. That's just me though. What do I know, I don't like drum loops.. lol I still don't know what that means, lol

And you gotta love it when they think they can tell your race based on how you TYPE. Man, I'll tell ya...

you are right. and you are also correct about apealling to the lowest common denominator. on one hand it lowers the quality of the music because now anyone with a rep can find a way to milk some dollars off of it. usually by contributing nothing of substance just more drama. on the other hand it makes the music more vibrant and immediate to some, because when they hear a song they already know all the emotion and drama that went into it

Man, you're like the grinch who stole Christmas and needs to steal a life. If this thread is worthless then so is your life, I mean, what benefit are you to us on the siccness? At least this thread provides some form of real world entertainment, and not the same old ass engineers, producers, and wiggers complaining about what everyone else seems interested in. It's called "news", rather you personally hold this news to be valuable or not is your lonesome opinion, but don't go forcing your passionate beliefs on everyone else because it's extremely evident that you're no better than anyone. I feel sorry for lames like you who live life according to some imaginary philosophical hierarchy and bring that arrogant trash to the siccness. Take that bullshit to stormfront or some left-wing conservative website, this is unadulterated hip hop/rap, get used to it or fuck off country boy..

That's true to a certain extent, but it's still just an act (on the records) because the artists are smart enough to realize that, "the fans eat that shit up". So they lump it on extra thick then it starts to sound manufactured and fake.

What's funny is that you're pretty much doing what I'm doing but complaining about me doing it. So how is what you're doing RIGHT NOW in that post any different?

:cheeky:

What does Big Fase getting knocked out in Southern California have to do with the Bay Area Music scene again?

Maybe I'm late... Some of us out here in the country (Bay Area) are kinda slow.

Please bro, who is "us"??.. You can't belong to my particular "phylum" or group, because our ways of thinking aren't in any way similar. You're a denouncer of who I consider "us", I'm an uplifter of "us"... Just kick that one under the rug though, forget it..

That dude ain't "correct" about shit. Who ever agrees that this is a universal truth is nothing but a social drone and crackpot hippie. Culturally and morally you have no point of reference to base judgement other than what your personal ideals are. To refer to actual human beings as the "lowest common denominator" is to suggest superiority or cultural/moral superiority, when all actions, pain, enjoyment, and interests are relative. I don't see how watching a rapper get knocked out some how hinders intellectual or moral progression, it is just entertainment. People who think too hard into entertainment are wasting their time; people who judge others based on their interests in entertainment are ignorant; and people who are too hard to entertain are just lame.

What you're doing is pulling your soap box right next to mine and yelling at me for being on my soap box. lol...

You say you can't see how a rapper getting knocked out hinders intellectual or moral progression, but the problem (to me anyway) is that it's gotten to the point that this is entertainment to people which is a direct reflection (again to me) of the devolving morals and lack of intellect in those that find it entertaining.

This particular episode isn't entertainment in the way, say, a boxing match or a UFC or Pride Fight is. People are getting a voyeuristic, vicarious thrill by indulging in the ignorant behavior of "us". If you don't find that disturbing, then maybe you're just too easily entertained...

Again, this is relevent to the bay area music scene because ... ???????
