I was on a BART train at the Lake Merritt station at the time of the shooting. Lake Merritt is one stop from Fruitvale, where Oscar Grant died. The BART system was insane that night. All trains were stuffed so tight with drunk people that people were standing on the seats to make room. Any of you assuming that he did this on purpose can not appreciate the scene. There were hundreds of people there watching, cameras rolling, everyone agitated and shouting at eachother. It looked like a riot would go down as it was. Imagine hundreds of people watching you do your job to make sure you don't make a mistake. He was scared as fuck. Does that excuse him? No. He's a cop and he should've been able to handle this shit. But he was a weak cop and he buckled under the pressure.
