Urlacher named top defensive player

So when Ray Lewis got it, it was because he was black ? You can make a case for someone else without bringing race into it. 121 tackles 1 Forced Fumble 5 Pass Deflections 6 Sacks is an awesome year, period. I think Mike Peterson had an exceptional year, but usually this award does go to a player from one of the top teams in Defense. Lewis with the Ravens,Brooks with the Bucs,Singletary W/Bears etc.

I guess you didnt see him handle Mike Vick did you? Dude ran Vick down on multiple plays.
He has the most responsablity on the best defense in the league. And we all know the only reason the Bears are in the playoffs is because the D has been the key.
Others may have had better numbers in certain catagories, but like most individual awards...it's a direct reflection of what you ment to your team.

I agree...Urlacher had an off year and everyone got on his case...it was a fuckin witch hunt if u ask me.
Urlacher is a HELL of a tackler...and is quite speedy...
Comparing Sehorn to Urlacher...Bammer i cant BELEIVE you would say that...Jason was CRAP....and there are NO white corners in the league...yeah he had the "Eminem" tag put on him...but he sucked...Urlacher has averaged 100 tackles in his career when hes played a full year...32.5 sacks,7 pics,7 forced foumbles and 36 passes defended....overrated???Cmon pimpin...u can do better than that!!!!

Even in the year were Urlacher was called overrated and that was a big news story, he was hurt half the damn year. So if a player is hurt and is not playing, or not playing at his former level due to injury he is overrated ? Being a Bears fan I have no problem with him getting the award, if I had to pick behind him I would probably go with Mike Peterson. Who else deserves it ? I could almost see putting Vasher up there, but thats me being a Bears fan.
