Its my belief that one of the reasons the bay has to struggle for exposure and recognition more than other places is partially due to the fact that we are divided as a region. For example, we listen to rap from at atlanta and immediatly can say "this is an atlanta rapper spitting atlanta rap", we dont divide it by the different districts and what not. but then u look at the bay, and u got richmond, vallejo, frisco, oakland, epa, and a buncha other countys and citys bein throwed up. now how is the mainstream market supposed to support artists and a region when its so split up? its jus too much work for lazy americans to understand the fundemental differences between the different turfs.
as a bay mc, i think we need to get united as a region and when it comes time to make tracks that could get nationwide recognition to not seperate the bay as much as rep for the whole general area. of course throw ur turf and sets up but when it comes down to telling dudes from NY where we from, if we scream bay they should be able to make the immediate connection and start painting a mental picture on the spot, instead of me screamin out epa and them not even knowin what im talkin bout.
wut yall think?
just a thought.

Yeah...The Bay is more united than ever.

Thats because for the most part...we don't know the different areas and districts in Atlanta...they still represent their areas though...we just don't recognize it when they do because we aren't familiar with the areas.

I'm familliar with Atlanta... but it's true, Decuatuer(how ever you spell it) and College Park are different turfs with different creeds of niggas! Same goes for Bay niggas too, bcuz A Frisco nigga doesn't think like a Richmond nigga! We all wanna be heard and have our own identites, but yeah we need to unite as a Unit becuz numbers move heavier. I'm a Sac Valley Boy and we're still seperated by Gangbangin... those that still do, and those that dont segregate bcuz money is on the line. I like Lynch and support him, but I know some of my niggas is gone clash with his if the essence of gangbanging fills the air. On the smae note, I'd like to reach the places he does, and spread his music where I be and vice versus. We in Sac also deal with people lumping us into the Bay(when We're not), and peopl ecomparing us to the bay when we're not. It's Nor Cal all day and I-80 makes us family... but not the Bay! So... step it up and put differences aside and do it moving! See me in the Rich, See me in The Sco, See me in Inglewood, and better yet see me in NY, ATL, Houston, etc. Think outside the box!

ya we are more united in terms of being connected with each other and all that.
its jus the bay is a place noted for its differences and individuality, and every turf carries their own individuality and perspective, and some of them are really unique.

i jus think we should find a better to market our different turfs in a way that people will understand what makes them different and stand out.

i feel the only way the the bay can TRULY blow up and be accepted and felt by everybody can only be accomplished if they truly understand our way of life and state of mind. and they cant understand that without knowing what makes our different sections unique. its not liek different parts of city. its different WHOLE citys feel me. lots of people dont get what kinda difference that makes. they cant learn about "the bay area" and get a summary of it without knowin the peices that go together to make this puzzle we call home. feel me??

Too many chiefs, not enough indians.

I actually think its the other way around, theres like 1000 bay/sac rappers out there and most of em are flooding the market with bullshit. Its gets harder every year to sift the cream from the rest of the crop.
