you got a cowboys star in your avatar and you wanna talk about the falcons qb situation? ok.
i can talk about anything i please. whether your quarterback was michael vick or joey harrington, your season wasn't gonna be that great. the falcons would be sitting at third place for the nfc south behind new orleans and carolina.

lol..his new defense.....

Hey...what do you expect. 400 hundred years of oppression.

200 of them dogs were used to hunt us down for running away from slave owners, then they were used to hunt us down from escaping from jail....and now....they are used as K-9 units in every police department across our Nation.

400 years of being Traumatized by dogs.....if there is a victim here, it's Vick....he obviously has some chemical imbalance that takes him back to when his ancestors were hunted down and killed.

This is just a little retribution that I think is well over due.....lol....With the right lawyer...I think this defense could work....only Cochran is dead... so I don't know who he would pick up.

all this talk about him being suspended before he is found guilty is fuck shit. but i believe if he's found guilty i wouldnt be upset with a one year suspension, but before hes found guilty? he should be allowed to play until then.

I think if Vick is found guilty or whatever he'll at "least" get a year on suspension. That's my guess...

I don't think Pacman has been found guitly of anything.. yet.

It doesn't matter. You said it's bullshit to be thinking about suspending Vick because he hasn't been convicted.. Well neither has Adam Jones. It makes no difference if he's been arrested once or 100 times if he never gets convicted of any wrong-doing.

Jones got suspended before ever being found guilty, so why should Vick get off?

They booted Jones for the year because he is tarnishing the NFL's reputation. If you ask me, Vick is doing more damage to the NFL's image than Pacman. Animal Rights activists are going to swarm all over the league if they don't take action as well.

seriously Vicks career is probably over, theres no way he can continue playing after this. More and more important figures are gonna speak up about this and the nfl is gonna be pressured into making a very severe punishment. Not to mention he might be serving a nice sentence in prison, all the money in the world cant get you out of this one.

because the discipline situation with the nfl was for REPEAT OFFENDERS and if vick got arrested 4 more times before his trial for various issues and was questioned in another 5 I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT.

Think about this in.........he killed more than 1 dog...different times in different years....they could look at that as repeat offender
THAT WOULD BE A STRETCH BUT NOTHING WOULD SURPRISE ME WITH ALL THE "SUSPEND HIM OR BAN HIM FOR LIFE" PRESSURE BEING PUT ON BY CERTAIN PEOPLE IN THE MEDIA AND ANIMAL GROUPS. LET ME REPEAT, IF HES FOUND GUILTY HE SHOULD BE PUT THROUGH THE WRINGER BUT UNTIL THEN ID LIKE TO SEE DUE PROCESS.

did you read the indictment scary1? did you notice the absence of physical evidence placing mike vick where he was? yes they had dog fighting equipment but the only thing linking vick to more than owning the property AS FAR AS WE KNOW is witness testimony. are these witnesses the ones that are serving time for dogfighting? if theres no videotape or paper trail linking vick to those dates his lawyers should have a decent chance at getting him off. they can go back to all those dates listed and see where vick was at the time based on credit card transactions. im being optimistic here but that is something that stood out to me about the indictment. all the "evidence" placing vick there is witness testimony. is it possible theres more they arent laying out, maybe saving for trial or is all the evidence in that indictment? im just curious.

well if thats the case they need to holler at espn's witness and find out who the other "20 or 30" nfl players are who are actively involved in the sport and start running their names through the mud too. i remember him saying that in the interview. im curious who he was talking about.

interesting facts about the 95% conviction rate being thrown around. seems like its not quite 95%. only 4 percent of federal indictments end up going to trial.

Cases were terminated against 83,391 defendants during 2004, 73,138 (88%) of whom were felony defendants.
Ninety percent of all defendants, (92% of all felony defendants, and 71% of misdemeanor defendants) were convicted.

Most defendants who were convicted pleaded guilty. Overall, 96% of those convicted pleaded guilty, while only 4% were convicted at trial. For felony offenses 96% of convicted defendants pleaded guilty to their charges.

During 2004 only 4% (3,346) of the 83,391 defendants in cases terminated exercised their right to a trial.

Of defendants who exercised their right to a trial, 2,630 (79%) were convicted either by a jury or a bench trial.
The felony trial conviction rate was 80%, while the misdemeanor conviction rate was 64%. Among felony offenses,
trial conviction rates ranged from 74% for violent offenses defendants to 85% for immigration defendants.

1 in 5 chances sounds a lot better than 8 out of 100.
