Bad stoppage, but not even top 50 of all time early stops. If you watch the replay, Shamrock basically turned to mush after the first elbow...and was then followed up with 4 or 5 more CLEAN elbows to the face. How many more can he take?

i completely disagree. yes he did take some elbows. only two or so were to the face and the others were to the side of his head. that shit was stopped way too early. if he was so "limp" as tito put it why did he jump up immediately after the stoppage. he wasnt even leaking. the previous fight he took much more of a beating than he did tonight and that wasnt stopped at all. with all of the hype surrounding this fight and the hatred these two have for each other, it was a ridiculous to stop it so soon. it was a minute 17 seconds into the fight. i could see if it was the third round and he was getting hit like that but the fight just started. that was one of the worst stoppages i have ever seen. shamrock should put hands on herb dean for that one.

I agree that it was a bad stoppae. I'm just saying it is not as bad as everyone claims it to be. The same thing happened when Shamrock fought Sakuraba. He got drilled in the face, looked out against the ropes, then miraculously jumped back to his feet like everything was OK.

They probably stopped it quick because of how badly Shamrock got fucked up last time. You know damn well if it hadn't been stopped right then, Ortiz would have dropped many more elbows and it would have gotten stopped anyway......

both main events sucked in my opinion. first fight of the night looked like the fuckin shining with all that blood! goddamn! and all i gotta say is chuck lidell vs wanderlei silva??? oh shit! i wish they woulda let the axe murderer fuck him up right there, i cant wait to see that fight. cuz chuck got fucked up by rampage and rampage got fucked up twice by silva. hmmm.
