First off this is my first post but i been browsing this forum for years. U all keep this board poppin and its nice to view when i come to work and people are choppin up game on
B-Legit, or Frontline or whatever the rapper and subject may be. First off I disagree with many peeps on this forum. I don't understand how anyone can like some of da beats dat have been coming out of da bay in the last year or two. It sounds like my little nephew's Casio Keyboard. Dat Bay Bridges shit E-40 came out wit is garbage. Dont get me wrong da rappers and lyrics are still solid but mayne how is droopy or whatever tha fuck his name is getting air play ? All his beats sound the same. If I get a spoon and fork and start hitting it on my dining table does that constitute as a solid beat ? fuck nah playaz. Now we getting all this slack bout B-Legits new album da mutha fucking legend. Why because he went down South and got some Beats. I'm be honest I wasn't feelin all that screamin and hollerin in lotta south rap but if B-Legit is flowin to dem beats dat makes a world of difference. Dat song he got wit paul wall I could see on MTV all day. The beats right now in da bay sound like a video game ?? Doesn't anyone else feel the same way ? I was proud when we were the innovaters and the leaders in production all across the U.S. Now we innovating but shit sounds like shit. Its all subjective but dats my two cents. Don't Hate on B La dat nigga doin his thang, and it is by far his best album prolly since Hemp Museum.

I feel you somewhat

don't get me wrong... I do like the "hyphy" shit comin out of the bay

but sometimes it gets repetetive... like a lot of rappers only wanna come with the same sounding beats... and only talk about scrapers, stunners, white tees, nikes, and thizzin

but that boy Droop-E got some heaters in my opinion... his beats do all sound kinda similar... but mainly cause thats just his style... you could say that with most producers

Man go get some toilet paper and wipe your ass! We need to keep this hyphy movement going. Just like the south with their crunk movement. Crunk music been around for years and finally exploded when Youngbloodz - Damn came out. Yeah many cats in the Bay may not find the hyphy sound appealing as it did 2 years ago, but this is a sound that's unigue and only comes from the Bay. Instead of all the criticism, you should help put the Bay where it belongs.

IMO, I think we need some R&B singers on some of our natice Bay Area artist albums. We need more diversity not just this gangster or hyphy shit.

If you think about it. I wasn't feelin' the Bay Bridges Compilation when I first heard it, but after the 4th time, I thought it was a really solid compiliation. I still slap about 5-6 tracks til this day. From what I've noticed, no other producer sounds like Droop E or vice versa. He know a Droop E beat when you hear it. And the funny thing is, He's only getting started. I support all the quality shit that comes out from the Bay whether or not other folks feel it sounds the same or not.

Its an opinion mayne. Deal wit it. And just cuz a producer sounds unique doesn't make dat shit any good. Bye the way i ain't hatin on da "hyphy" movement. I like some of dat shit but for the most part when you actually buy the albums most of the songs sound like shit. I like it how niggaz say i have to bump it 5 times before i started feelin it. Back in tha day when I first listened to Killa Kali, or In a Major Way.......dat shit was st8 knockin right from da getgo. If you gotta bump somethin 10 times in order to get used to it den tell yourself this shit is clean your pathetic. If shit is knockin u'll know within the first 2 listens. Otherwise your foolin yourself.

this is not hatin yall. he gots a good point, droop-e got heat, but some of the beats are repetative. lol, ive never heard a snare in any of his songs, just claps. and the beggining of "meet the dealers" sounds just the intro of "get on my hype".

Dude ain't hatin he just stating an opinion and a very valid one at that. I guess some of us older heads dig the bay sound from way back more than the music now. I like some of the new stuff coming from the bay but I'll usually play it a few times and put it away. I still jam the old bay shit continuosly and if I have to listen to something 5 or 6 times to be feelin it then to me I didn't get my money's worth in my opinion.

at first, i was liking a hyphy beat here and there, but that shit has got out of hand. sure, through one or two on there, but with most of these 'hyphy' cd's, my favorite tracks are the ones that don't sound like that. i'm all for evolving, but this 1-dimensional cut-corners production is only gonna continue to make motherfuckers overlook us. like rick rock for example...the man is a genius on the boards, but i'm just liking his old shit better. call it hatin if it makes u feel better, thats just how i feel.

the Word "HATER" has lost all meaning. youngsters are so quick to use it, how you gonna call someone a hater for stating his opinion? anyone over the age of 21 probably can use the term in its right context, everyone else is so quick to use it even though it doesn't fit the definition of what they're tryin to get across. i knew that word was gonna come up, just like mark 7 said. i hate that.

i fell you The916toDa510 on some of the shit you said. im not feelin a good majority of the shit comin out the bay. even though i could slump like 3 songs off an album. 3 out of 16 is not good. but since so many albums are comin out the bay recently, it makes me stick to listenin. i guess me being 24, makes me gettin old and the rap world is gettin less unique and im gettin biased to the old sound against the new shit.

man im early 20s, ive listened to bay rap jus lil after teenager became AGE, since messy marv was skinny with straights talkin about on tha DL wit quinn, befo BO n 40 worked da kitchen, when black C had all his homies around still [rip], when spiceburg and 40 was label mates, dd, 4tay all day, i luv that shit probably skipped hella lunches jus so i could buy tuesday albums...and i remember my moms gettin mad cuz i would order the click's hurricane and 3x's video on the box!. i still slap all dat shit, my favorite rapper was A G E back then, real talk. BUT man, an opinion is fine but too many of yall cats seem like yall ain't tryin to see the bay put itself bak on the map...its a damn shame cuz u gotta evolve, wether u think the material today is garbage o not, shit please ask yoself if its so bad why is keak, the team, marv, etc on the top 20 playlist of yo favorite radio station? why the same kids that slapped jayz 3 years ago, cashmoney 2 years ago, lil jon a year ago are slappin BAY SHIT today?? to me that shows that sometin good is goin on... period.

I think the sound of the bay has been slowly improving since mid 2004 and 2005 has been the best year for bay area rap since 1999... i dont necessarily love the hyphy sound but overall the production and beats have been a lot better the last year or so... however 2005 still isnt even in the same league as the golden days for the bay 1993-1997... this could be because I am older and grew up on that shit or it could be that it was just tighter...

Me to like TC. the new shit kind of sucks. No one could top that old frisco style like RBL, IMP, GLP etc. You could tell the albums suck now. There is no new bay its the old bay. Until someone makes a classic like Ill mannered playaz or UDI. then we should talk about them and no more mixtapes and comps.

All I know is the radio needs to play a tad bit more other bay hiphop... Like I've said time and time again...I know for a fact that kmel recieves more bay artists music daily and all of it can't just be wack as shit...they just won't play it because of contacts and who you know...period. yeah yeah...the radio only got a certain amount of local shit they can play...i've heard it before but my point is basically if it ain't sounding just like or almost similar to the rest of the bay shit then it will not get the time of day....and I come to believe even if it is soundin like some shit they would play it's has to come from a source they are familiar with....like a good referral...a cat they fuck wit and accept music from. maybe im wrong but really don't think so. but just maybe .
