Don't know how reliable this is, and both trades sound a bit unbelievable, but one of the ESPN radio outlets is reporting that two trades involving AL West squads are near completion.

Angels get: Andruw Jones
Braves get: Erick Aybar, Joe Saunders, and Dallas McPherson

A's get: Three prospects who's names slip my mind
Mets get: Barry Zito

I'd fuckin' love the Angels/Braves deal, but it sounds way too good to be true.

the rumors i have been hearing are that as long as the A's are in the hunt for the Playoffs there is no way they move Zito.

also i have heard rumors of the Dodgers getting Dontrelle Willis for MLB ready prospects

Aybar is starting to prove himself.

Saunders was solid in his ML debut. I think he has a ton of potential.

D-Mac, I am still brainwashed thinking he can do what he did in AAA, in the majors. Damn, I need to snap out of it.

Overall, fair trade.

the only mlb ready prospects we have wont be going anywhere. i dont think the marlins are gonna trade dontrelle anyway.
i wouldnt mind moving Andre Eithier, James Loney, C. Billingsly, and/or Willy Aybar plus Ceasar Izturiz (if i had to) in order to get D. Willis.

The only Dodger prospects i wouldnt want to move are Matt Kemp, Joel Guzman, Blake DeWitt, and Greg Miller.

the dodgers have the most top prospect in the Majors along with the D-backs, so they should have plenty to deal with

although i too heard that the Marlins said they wont be moving him, that usually means that they WILL, just trying to get more for him by saying they wont move him.

the only MLB ready prospects that you named are Ethier and maybe Aybar. and your untouchables list is way off imo. it should be something like ethier, kemp, billingsley, elbert, laroche, and maybe loney (depending on what they decide to do with nomar).

but anyway, i still doubt the marlins trade dontrelle. maddux still looks like the biggest possibility to me right now.

your right about elbert and LaRoach. they sipped my mind

Eithier and Loney are ready and aybar is close but i would unload them in a heartbeat to get willis. i would even unload billingsly. Willis is a proven star while billingsly is just a prospect albeit s high one.

Kemp and Guzman along with LaRoach are and should be untouchable as they high VERY HIGH cielings, but in order to get a willis type player at least one of them would have to be included. so if it were up to me i would try to offer LaRoach.

i dont want to move Izturiz because i like having 3 All Star Short Stops in the infield at the same time (Izturiz, Furcal, and Garciaparra), but if it takes moving him to get a Willis type pitcher so be it.

i hope you were joking about Maddoz, because at this point in this future HOFer career he is below average

loney has not proved that he is ready. sure he only got like 40 ABs in the bigs, but he didnt show much besides his defense. he has been hot in AAA but still hasnt proven he can hit in the bigs.

and in most people's eyes after seeing both Kemp and Guzman in the majors, Kemp is the better overall player. guzman really has no place either. we're loaded at every position he plays. SS isnt an option after signing furcal and still having 2 or 3 other natural SS. 3B isnt relly an option with laroche ahead of him. his defense is below average at both those positions too. the outfield is pretty packed also with ethier, kemp, repko, drew...his future just doesnt look bright with the dodgers.

so loney and billingsley i would THINK about trading for willis, but i wouldnt unload them in a heartbeat...
