Trucks Dumps Marijuana Load; Bystanders Flee With Pot

SAN JOSE -- San Jose police are looking for pedestrians and motorists who grabbed bags of marijuana that spilled onto the road from a truck that crashed.

Police say the bystanders swooped in and grabbed most of the pot after the driver of the truck fled the crash in south San Jose early Wednesday morning.

When officers arrived, they found a few remaining bags of marijuana and a loaded handgun inside the truck.

Police tell the San Jose Mercury News they are also looking for the truck's driver, who was carrying the marijuana illegally. Neither the driver nor any of the people who took the marijuana has been identified.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

LANCASTER, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities in central Ohio are trying to solve a panties puzzle: why hundreds of pairs of mostly women's underwear were dumped along the side of a road.

Fairfield County Deputy Gary Hummel said Thursday the undergarments were found in trees and on hillsides in several spots this week on a road in Berne Township, about 30 miles southeast of Columbus.

He says some of the panties were still folded the way they'd come in packaging, while others appeared to have been worn. There were nearly 1,700 pairs in all, in a mix of colors and patterns. Hummel says when collected, they filled 10 large trash bags.

He says investigators are "baffled" as to where the panties came from

An unemployed man in northern Illinois was working in his garden when he came across some serious green -- bags filled with $150,000 cash.

Wayne Sabaj went to pick some broccoli to go with a roast he was cooking when he spotted several bags. He thought it was garbage, but instead discovered stacks of $20 bills that added up to about $150,000, Chicago's WLS-TV reported.

"I went and made a drink to calm down," Sabaj told the station. "I haven't worked in two years. Yeah, I was like, 'I could really use this money.' With my luck, it would be bank robbery and I'd get caught and [they would] say I'd robbed a bank."

Sabaj, a 49-year-old carpenter who currently lives with his father, said he decided to turn in the money because he figured the cash would cause more problems than it solved.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office now has custody of the cash. Detectives are waiting to see if anyone claims it

That's what I'm sayin, even if it's dirt than go sell it to some dumbass for dirt cheap, hell $20 would be more than what you had before you picked it up and if these were bags in a truck they were probably ounces or pounds or something that could have brought some money in.
