that ranking system is probably based mostly on research, funding, academic resources, faculty, etc., and takes into account all the different schools within the universities (undergrad, grad, professional)...cal has all that...if you take a look at grad school rankings, cal is in the top 10 in damn near most programs (just like harvard, stanford, and mit)

the other rankings you more commonly see are more undergrad-centered and based more on admissions selectivity, quality of undergrad education (class size, etc.), financial aid, in addition to some of the other factors mentioned above

I graduated with a geography major: easiest major at cal. No thesis paper or anything. Take your classes and get that piece of paper. Not like people look at what you graduated with, just as long as you have that piece of paper.

I know cats from Cal who graduated 3 months ago in the top 10% of there class and are only 22 and are makin 80k a year are you one of them?

hahahah hell no

I'm one of those who graduated 8 years ago and going through bankruptcy right now.

^what you make at an early age really depends on what you major in and what field you're working in...trust me................

I don't understand why anyone is suprised at the top 5 schools.....the only thing that I thought was funny about the top 10 was yale wasn't included (number 11) and california institute of technology was (wtf???)

Cal & Stanford should always be considedered top schools, there's hella nobel prizes coming out of them
