Yup, "Choosin'" is a nice combination of Rapping with old school Funk/Soul sounds from the '70s. But yeah, MARRIED TO THE GAME is worth picking up, too. Even though a lot of it was no doubt done in the South, Short sounds like he's kind of regained his "ear" (if you will) for making tracks that Bay fans can enjoy (or easily adjust to, if need be). The tracks produced by Lil Jon were way better than I thought they were gonna be, especially "Burn Rubber" which sounds like something that could have been recorded during the BORN TO MACK days. That Dez fellow came up with some cool sounds as well.
MARRIED TO THE GAME and WHAT'S MY FAVORITE WORD are, to me, the best CDs Short's made since coming out of his retirement--CAN'T STAY AWAY was good, but not great, YOU NASTY seemed phoned-in, and CHASE THE CAT had too many features, but WMFW and MTTG are the closest Short's come to making songs as enjoyable as (if not better then) his classic period stuff...
PEACE!
