I have to wonder though, if Pac was still (legally) alive would he be at the point of his success that he is right now when he is "dead", or sold completely out like Ja Rule? Or perhaps fallen off due to the media making him look like Hammer.

Death does create immortality with an artist I suppose. See most dead rappers I hear about have the talk goin about them about how they could be the greatest or the greatest the game has ever had since they never really got the chance to spread their wings, I guess you can say it leaves a little suspense and to the imagination.

A whole bench of bay area pionners released straight classic shit and now fall down. Among them, JT, Cellski, Guce, Kill tay, yukmouth, 4 tay, delinquents and the list goes on. These are some of the artists I used to listen, bumping pure pressure all day long, mr predicter or playaz n game, shit is major but when I listen mafia moves, mobality or the dominion, just wonder how you can be the hottest motherfucker behing a mic and after just put some garbage shit.
Sadly I do notice that as well. Todays classic artists are most likely tommorows sellouts and wash ups!

And I also see that about LL. He burnt the stage but I honestly have to say that his album Mr. Smith is where he crossed the line over. He got a fam and some mouths to feed though so I can understand that move, but I feel that he still got a lot of heat left in him and he not using his full potential!
