To the parents and the adults that stuck around who tried to do their best, fought for their kids turns, and not caring if their kids were not like other kids. Here’s to you…
Sometimes we forget you were once a girl and a boy once…you had dreams wishing to go to college, making money, owning a house, and most likely showing what they were going to do and make it BIG someday.
We forget to thank you for calling to see if we’re still alive.
We forget to smile when we see you.
WE forget to tell you, you do make us smile.
WE forget to look for presents you might like to have.
WE forget to talk to you like a person wanting a conversation with a friend.
Sometime WE forget the world WE live in happened because of them.
There were the nights they held us while WE slept in their arms especially when we got too tired to walk.
We forget they fed us when WE cried, said the stupid baby talk to make us giggle, and changed us when WE stank.
It was fun too when WE wobbled towards their arms for our very first steps.
They comb our hair everyday…They snuck us snack when WE weren’t supposed to…and they sang us lullabies WE couldn’t really understand.
They even bought clothes so WE looked somewhat presentable.
They worked long hours at a job they weren’t suppose to have …so WE could get some of the things other kids had…
They stayed up for hours when WE were sick….
They even gave us to their moms to make sure we were taken care of….
I forget how hard it must have been and how tough the world can be…They made it with us on their hips…and somehow we are still here.
Thank you and hope to see you soon.
