You may still be able to get it back. Check with some disk recovery spots. I don't what kind of cost is involved, but there are ways to recover your stuff.

disconnect the power to the hard drive inside the computer RIGHT NOW. There is still a very good chance that most, if not all the data on the hard drive can be recovered. But the more it is accessed when damaged, the more perminate damage (rendering data unrecoverable) will occur. Take the hard drive to a professional computer nerd.

I burn a backup of my Pro Tools sessions and related files every time I finish a song... I think I'm about to network my music computer to my other one so I can keep backups there too... But yeah, you might be able to recover it... Take it to another computer and hook the hard drive up as a slave and see if you can burn it from there.

same shit happened to me once in college i lost everything on a zip disk . I mailed it off to a place that did data recovery and they got all my shit back , it was kinda expensive (a few hundred) but in your case i deftinally think its worth it. My suggestion to you is DONT TOUCH YOUR COMPUTER , get in contact with a date recovery place and have them deal with it. The sooner you do this the more likely you can get your shit back. Your shit isnt gone if you handle this the right way you can and will get it back so dont worry. Just hope you didnt allready have someone fix your computer or something cause then your fucked. YOu can find a shitload of data recovery places , just go to yahoo and type in data recovery. Dont trip homie youll get your shit back.............btw i know who you are :)

OH ONE MORE THING , IF YOUR SERIOUS BOUT GETTING YOUR SHIT BACK DONT TRY TO DO THE DATA RECOVERY ON YOUR ON. GO TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL SHOP. DEPENDS ON HOW BAD YOU NEED YOUR SHIT BACK IF YOU REALLY NEED IT BACK TAKE IT TO A SHOP, IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF THERES A GOOD CHANCE YOU WONT GET SHIT BACK.....................TAKE IT TO A PRO IF ITS IMPORTANT FILES , IM SERIOUS BOUT THIS. YOU FUCK WITH IT YOURSELF YOU COULD END UP HAVING YOUR FILES STILL GONE. TAKE IT TO A PRO YOU STILL GOT A VERY VERY VERY GOOD CHANCE OF GETTING YOUR SHIT BACK.

My computer at home just crashed last week. I took it to get fixed and they said my hard drive was destroyed. I got a free replacement, but I lost everything. I don't keep nothing too important on this computer, but now I WILL back up all of the stuff on our Pro Tools computer...

I've had success with hard disk recovery programs, but if it's something really important, like kevski said, take it to a proffessional.

Blank cds only cost about 30 cents apiece. Use them. Learn from N Jail's catastrophe.
