i was watching this show on time travel and they had this guy from germany or austria who did experiments on sending audio through light 5 times faster than light, i find hard to believe since i thought light cant go faster than itself it was some guenter nimtz guy, im a little skeptical on this one.

I never heard of sending audio faster than the speed of light and I would remain highly sceptical and continue to believe nothing can travel faster than light, until proven otherwise.

The only thing I’m aware of that comes close are scientists that say they’ve sent light signals or laser beams at faster-than-light speeds, but there is controversy over their experiments since the light itself was distorted, and of course its still light travelling.

yeah, I heard about that - I think they sent a laser beam through some sort of crystal and supposedly the light reached its destination before it left its source. Seems pretty strange to me, but it wouldn't suprise me if it was possible. The special and general theories of relativity states that light is the universal speed limit, but this isn't proven beyond a doubt (although it is an integral part of Einsteins theories). However, quantum mechanics opens the door for faster than light travel with its theory on 'quantum entanglement' in which two molecules derived from the same source can transmit information between each other instantaneously (regardless of the distance apart). This doesn't seem to bother physicists though, because they are only interested in whether we can send information faster than the speed of light, but I don't see why changing the properties of a particle, such as spin, velocity or position (and hence changing the properties of the other particle) can't transmit some form of information.

Although physics is strongly opposed to anything moving faster than the speed of light (and thus time travel), our current theories are far from the end of the story. Everyone thought Newtons laws of motion were absolute and no-one ever doubted them. Einstein changed all that, causing a huge paradigm shift in physics thought. I don't see why that won't happen again (infact, it's highly probable).

i dont know it was on science channel show time travel crazy shit id like to see it dupped in another lab, yup im skeptical also at this shit, i ws thinking it violates all those therios by einstein, wait and see i guess thats science disprove older theores-models and come up with better ones that reflect realtiy its never over game never stops

Maybe they aren't going from one point to the other in a linear fashion.

Is it possible that one signal is actually in two spots at the same time and they are finding a way to locate the mirror image of that signal?

No, Einstein stated that time travel could happen if you could find a way to reach point B before you leave point A. Time is merely a concept of the human brain.

i heard that the mass of an object moving faster then the speed of light begins to increase.. not only that.. but time begins to move much more slower when something is moving at that high of velocity..

^^^Its possible that there is a speed faster than light speed but hasn't been discovered yet. If there is something that travels faster than light speed, would we even be able to see it?

Who knows.. it's the same about colours... are there colours we don't have discoverd yet and we still don't know about?

but I dont think if there is something that travels faster then light we will not be able to see it with the naked eye.. hell I can't even see light moving
