Bitter?

I'm not bitter...I thought you wanted to just keep jawing back and forth for entertainment....because we both sure as hell know that's the only entertaining thing around here lately.

Fuck it, I know BRAN is game.

Allard Baird is clearly the main problem now...he doesn't know how to evaluate tallent for bargan prices.

Hell he can't even assemble a deacent scouting and development staff.

Name one pitcher in the last 15......NAY...20 years that has come up through the royals system and was a success.

People need to let go the fact that they let Beltran, Dye and Damon leave.

If they are not going to resign any big time players they need to trade them A LOT earlier than the trade deadline in the guy's contract year. That's the only way they are ever going to get any tallent for these great players that come up.

Why Mike Sweeney hasn't been traded yet is beyond me. There are at least 10 teams in the AL who would love to have this guy in their lineup as a DH. And would dump prospect on top of prospect to get him. Well maybe not now since he has his own personal table in the trainer's room. JD Drew thinks this guy gets hurt too much.

When Billy Butler and Gordon get up here and have a couple of good years.....LOCK THESE MOTHERFUCKERS UP!!!!!! 5 years MINIMUM!!!!

Allard must have this checklist of ways to become a sub .500 errrrrrr .400 errrrrrrr .300 team

1. Overpay for free agents who are a year or two from retireing and not by their choice but because they fucking suck(CHECK)
2. Take everyone's retreads and assemble a pitching staff with them (CHECK)
3. Wait until your all-star's trade value is next to nothing and dump him for a shitty catcher and a guy who makes Joe Randa expendable OOPS (CHECK)
4. If uncle David gives me 50 million to spend on the roster...keep some set aside just incase you have to burn a mil or so on Jose Lima late in the season when you're fighting to keep from getting 110 losses. (CHECK)

I could go on and on and on. But we've all heard it. Clean the house......top to bottom.

Berroa is the only player that I wouldn't want to get traded. Shit, we might have a losing season if we started playin games against minor league teams. We definitely need to go back to the drawing board, but I'm goin to ride with the royals regardless.

pitchers in the last 20 years? what about Mark Gubizca, kevin appier, that one latino player that made the all star game in like 1998 or something, jeff montgomery, david cone (even tho he only played like one year in his first year, and then two or three later on in his career)...the problem with their pitching is just that they always seem to develop a guy here and there, but they just never know how to use him right.

I would love to have Berroa play like the Berroa of 2003, and not the one we've seen the past two years. Otherwise, I'd trade him if I had a decent offer on the table. We have Andres Blanco at Omaha and Angel Sanchez at Wichita, so Berroa really is expendable.

I believe Jose Rosado is the pitcher's name you are searching for. He was an All Star in 1997 and 1999... he was the winning pitcher at Fenway Park in the 1999 All Star Game. But that was only because he caughed up a 1-0 lead when Javier Lopez hit a solo home run over the "Green Monster" off of him. Tony Muser pretty much ruined him, so they say, by over-working him. By the end of 1999, Rosado's arm was shot. After he had surgery, he was never the same pitcher.

I would say you can count Kevin Appier as a pitcher the Royals developed... Mark Gubicza came up in 1984/85, so I guess you could count him since he did get a ring with KC. Same with Brett Saberhagen. I believe Tom Gordon came up with KC, but was never very good while he pitched in KC... he was a starter here. It wasn't until he was with Boston and they made him into a closer that he finally put it all together. Oh, and Jeff Mongomery came to us from Cincinatti, if my memory serves me right. We traded for him when he was still fairly young, though.

I am definately over the fact that Damon, Dye, and Beltran are gone. None of them really wanted to be here anyhow... they acted like they wanted to be, but we know they are happy where they are now. Maybe if KC would have ponied up the big bucks, we would be in a whole different situation now. But, this is what we have, so I have to deal with it... I will never stop rooting for and loving my Royals, but it sure is difficult sometimes.
