Thomas Dolby, a pioneer in geeky electronica music, is considering suing Kevin Federline after the talentless husband of Britney Spears sampled some of Dolby's music in the single "America's Most Hated."

The piece of sampled music is actually sampled from Mobb Deep's single "Got It Twisted," but Deep had sampled it (with permission) from Thomas Dolby. Federline did not ask Dolby for permission to use the sample, and past court cases tell us that he is likely to lose all rights to the song if Dolby should sue him.

I'm sure the only reason Dolby has not sued Federline already is because it's hardly worth it. Even if he gains all the revenue the song has generated, that amounts to about $1.43. Nobody listens to Kevin Federline, and they probably never will. The only reason Dolby needs to sue is to protect his one great hit from being tarnished by the likes of a pale guy with dreadlocks.

since k-fed has not released this song to anything other than the net, i dont think monetary damages can be established. he certainly can have k-fed pull it from any records he plans to release, but thats about it at this point.
