Vallejo man accused of hurting baby
Vallejo police have announced an arrest in an investigation into an assault that allegedly has left a month-old baby boy in critical condition with brain injuries since last week.
Minnesota police took Joseph Wilson, 21, into custody Wednesday in relation to the incident. Wilson was being sought under a $1.5 million warrant, police said.
Wilson, the live-in boyfriend of the child's mother, is accused of injuring the baby and will be extradited back to Solano County in coming days, according to a police press release.
When emergency responders arrived at the child's home in the 1600 block of Valle Vista Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. late last week they discovered the child showing signs of lethargy and internal injuries.
In addition to head trauma that led to brain bleeding, it was also determined that the baby suffered from broken ribs, according to police.
The baby was airlifted from Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo to Children's Hospital in Oakland for advanced medical treatment, police said.
Vallejo Police Department worked with the Solano County District Attorney's Office, Solano County Children Protective Services, Children's Hospital of Oakland and the Shakopee Police Department in Minnesota to make Wednesday's arrest.

(JAW is the dude's initials, and this was AFTER he was arrested for brutally beating her 1-month old son....) and then goes on to say : I'm still gonna be there for him when he gets out. Even if it will be years. No one really understood him the way I do.
CPS has taken her older child away from her, and I REALLY hope they never give her back. She obviously isn't a very good decision maker....
