i've heard alot of that lately due to the new lynch album's content. you already know i've got that shit on constant rotation. so somebody explain to me what makes the beats whack.... and please give me an in depth explanation, i don't want to hear that it's just not like SOS, or loaded.....
cuz from where i stand i see this album as a step in the right direction.... lynch took the complexity of his lyrics and meshed it with beats that tell a story... different emotions are triggered by different melodies..... to write a song like "i came from" to a uptempo beat with real dark instruments like some of the other "ripgut" type beats just wouldn't give you that same feel.... what i'm trying to say is... to capture the true feeling of an experience and put it on disc, you need to lay your beats down acccordingly to portray the emotional side of the music correctly..... i feel like lbi not only has lynch's rapid fire delivery and clever word play and rhyme schemes, it also has a level of reality involved that really pushes the envelope artistically..... and i think the selection of beats is what helped lynch set it off....
what do yall think?

there's no doubt in my mind that lynch has developed tremendously since his last solo release.... but it seems like some people don't grasp the concept that true artists are so dedicated to expanding there horizons and adding to thier fire power if you will.... if you're an artist and you're not constantly trying to improve yourself; or if you are narrow minded and not open to experimenting with new styles, it's almost inevitable that you will soon "fall off". it's true that some artists are so talented, that they can stick with a particular style and continue to be successful.... just look at too short... but for the most part... artists need to continue to be their own biggest critic.....as a fan and an aspiring artist i often find myself doing the exact same.... working to perfect my style... trying to come up with better lyrics, harder beats, and steppin' up the creativity.... that's why i feel lbi so much.... i've listened to lynch for years and he's continued to improve with each release.... now with lbi he's stepped his whole game up and at the same time, laced some really emotional beats with some heartfelt lyrics.... lbi is definately unique in that, its' not like any of lynch's other albums... but lbi is unique in a good way.... i suggest to those who picked up the album and didn't feel it at first, to take a long listen and you'll see that it's the same lynch, only a refined version.

For me personally,I think alot of them have no rhythm.I might be white, but some of them beats you can't even nod your head to,because snares,or whatever else are jumbled in.There's no flow to alot of them, and I think it fucks up Lynch's verses, because I think he's at his best when flowing like he does on "Death Dance".That songs off the hook, and so is "Bleeding House".I don't think people miss the topics, and cannibal shit on SOTS,as much as they miss that old rapid fire flow, and beats.Back then it was like he was rappin to you personally about what the fucks goin on.Now it more or less sounds like just rhyming.I am liking this album a little more, after giving it some play, and there's no doubt that verbally it's heated. But the beats.......uhhhm

Yea im feelin you to a extent.. Cuz I think LBI has alot of songs that bring you into Lynch's head.. But some of them are jus' there to rhyme I feel.. But "I went from" "Death Dance" "Sucide Note" "Tried to Shoot Me" "Murder House" and even "Spyder Man" I think are explainin' Lynch and his thoughts.. Jus' how i think.

i don't think the fact that you're white has anything to do with your opinion.... but homie.... are we listening to the same cd? everyone has their own concept of what tight lyrics are... and that goes with every aspect to what good music is to one person as opposed to another..... but damn..... either i'm just really diggin' lynch's lyrics or you're not hearing them..... i know you've seen white men can't jump..... to me it sounds like you're listening to lynch... but you can't hear him.....
you tell me....

the beats are lame and simple & the lyrics are just dry. if u have to keep listening to it over and over to make yourself like it that is obviously saying something. I liked the style he came with on corpse came to dinner and excaliber, but this shit right here is bland and seems uninspired.

To me alot of the beats are just missing something. They get way too repetative. My favorite Lynch/Beta beats are the ones with the dope switch ups(Heataz, Weapons of War etc.).

Also they too obviously used the Triton to make they beats. I liked the older production cuz at times they had me wondering where they were getting some of those crazy sounds(Killin Fields).

Bottomline: I hope they go back to the quality of SOTS and Loaded production. That doesnt mean I want them to go back to their old sound, just bring the quality it had.

Chief-Lemme get a copy of your album man..I still havnt checked it out

The white thing was a joke, has nothing to do with any of this really.I never knocked the lyrical content of the album,so I don't understand where your goin with that. And as for your comment on listening to him,and hearing him,I don't really git into that spiritual aspect of music homie.I want shit that knocks, and gits a mutherfucka hyped up,I don't wanna smoke a blunt, and try to decipher hidden messages and shit.Glad your enjoyin it though

it's like this..... i make music... i listen to music.... maybe that sets me apart from the average listener.... call me crazy.... but i have different modes of listening.... i try to pick that shit apart..... if you aren't listening to the song with your full attention you're not hearing it.... there are different types of songs for different types of moods.... when an artist puts his thoughts and emotions into a track... you can feel it.... when someone writes a song and it has nothing to do with them or thier life..... you can tell..... it gets deeper than that.... but i'm not trying to make anyone like that shit anymore than they do.... just trying to figure out what the average fan is listening for...... i'm not giving anyone their opinion.... just looking for intelligent conversation concerning your likes and dislikes...

Personally I thought some of the beats could have been more on point as far as the mixdown goes, they just weren't soundin' as crisp and clean as Loaded or even the Blocc Movement. But overall the lyrics make up for it.
