OK, so Romania is one of the most busted countries in Europe, if not THE most. But their communist government decided they needed to make the second most massive building on earth behind the pentagon -- the Peoples Palace, in the center of Bucharest. I think like 80% of it is still unused. All the materials they used to make it are from Romania.
One cool thing was after the fall of Communism Michael Jackson went to Bucharest and 100,000s of people came to see him and he walked out on to one of the balconies of the people's palace, and said: "I love you, people of Budapest!!!" lmao. Romanians always lose at everything.
