Is the way you act in public & around friends who you really or are you trying to fulfill a persona that isn't really you?

The reason I'm asking is because you can catch a lot of people, especially close friends and family acting differently when they're around certain people. I'm not talking about race in general or appropriateness at work. But why can't more people just be themselves?

yeah exactly. you're not gonna act the same because it depends who you're around. but theres things that if you lie about, then you're fake. Like you said, who you are, where you came from, etc.

Okay. So basically you put up a front when you're with your girl? She should accept you for the way you are. I don't give a fuck if she my girl or not. I'm acting the same as I do. Of course I'll watch what I say, but I ain't going to act different in front of her or other people. Work is a totally different story. By the way, boys will always do shit women will not agree with thats why we don't tell them.

well..i think many guys act different around chicks, i mean truth be told your getting intimate with them not your homies so yeah your gonna say some lame shit sometimes,,but is that really putting on so much of a front or is that more that you do little things to make them happy..for me- i may act different around business associates and clients but a person should know how to switch it both ways when they need to make that paper..i will be me when im around my family and friends but that me is my outgoing side..I also have a quiet side many don't see, where i draw or write or concentrate on projects or read about interesting things..A person has many layers so its hard to pinpoint fronting or just showing a different angle people havent seen before..

i just do me in all situations meaning that Im always myself. the thing about the way i act that's probably a lil different from most people is I don't reveal a whole lot about myself depending on who Im around. I dont be telling everyone that I rap. Mostly because I don't want to have conversations about rap everyday with random ass people. If Im around someone hella square im not gonna start talking about my hood and shit because there's not any reason to. Also, Im very educated and find myself having to dumb down a lil around certain people to avoid going over their heads. You know I don't want to use words that people won't understand and so on.
