Dope, fun CD. I liked it a lot...I thought this was one of the more slept-on CDs of 2002!

Taydatay, E-Sicc, Big Quint, D.I.G. and Big Mack are the "big guns" here in terms of lyrical dominance...the guest appearances (San Quinn, Guce, Charlie Manhattan, etc.) sometimes make it seem a little more like a comp than I'd like, but it's cool. Production-wise, it's somewhere between 11/5's A-1 YOLA and U.D.I.'s DRINKS ON US (i.e., Funk w/ an occasional party-ish, Gap Band-feel to it).

Like Taydatay's new solo, it gives you what you expect, lyrically and production-wise, but without seeming dated. They didn't try to duplicate the old sound EXACTLY (which might have been deadly), and that's why I like it (not that I don't still love that old sound, but this IS 2003).

PEACE!
