I seriously don't understand some of you people. "G Unit this, G Unit that" Who cares about the G-Unit? You sound like a bunch of butt heart ex-girlfriends. I'm guessing as of now, The Team is pushing no more than 20k. With the most popular name in the rap game backing them, they are guaranteed to blow on a national level and most likely go platinum. And with that, come the majors nocking on the Bay Area's door to sign more Bay Area artists and groups. But nooooo, lets not hope for that to happen. Instead, let's sit here and gossip about how much of a snitch 50 Cent is and how much we hate G-Unit.

Then, you want to talk about selling out? What is your defintion of selling out and please explain why you think The Team signing to G-Unit would be selling out. Because if signing to a major is selling out, then lets hope all Bay Area artists sell out..

Let's be real here. If 50 came nocking on Yuk's door with a contract, I bet even Yuk would sign. Ever heard the term, "It's nothing personal, strictly business." ?
it ain't even about sellin out cuz of course what's goin put the yay through the top is goin major, but the thing is signin to gunit and havin a mark for a boss. even if they do sign and go platinum that don't mean they goin be automatically caked up, plus they a group that's just more bread to break. the reason i say it would be sellin out is because 50 pretty much known for bein a mark throughout the industry now and if he wasn't a mark he wouldnt have people from all over the map callin him out on it. off top i ain't goin lie i was diggin 50 and gunit when they first came out til all of the publicity stunts and his true colors started shinin i aint feelin that gunit shit no more. if it was strictly business wit him why'd game get x'd out the click? it's because he started gettin more shine then 50 and said that he would'nt ride on 50's enemies cuz he didnt have no funk wit em. wouldnt it be the same for the team wouldnt 50 expect them to ride for him since they signed to his label. i dont know man yall could say it would be big for the team all yall want but i guarantee they would lose alot of fans out here in the yay. i wouldnt be sayin none of this shit if they was signin to some other major like def jam, so so def, dipset, etc. but aye whatever they gotta do to eat i still will support their music as long as they keep it how they do. its nuthin just my 2 cents.

i don't like 50 that much i think he's coo and all but i always see people on here sayin he's a snitch and they seem so sure about it. alls i gotta say is if team went to gunit they would definately be sittin better than they are now, anybody that says different is just hatin. shit yuk is my favorite rapper but i bet if 50 wanted to sign him he might do it. i seen in an interview with yuk that he said,"all beef is squashable, even the 50 beef." now if 50 was really a snitch why would he even consider squashin it if he had real facts, i think its all word of mouth hatin sometimes, but ya know thats the game

Exactly.

The funny thing is, bay fans don't know what they want. One minute, they want their artists to go mainstream. Once one of artists looks like they may have a mainstream situation, bay fans start to hate on their own and blow shit out of proportion. These cats talk about support the bay and rep the bay, but they download everything and kill the artists numbers.

Even if the bay fans got what they wanted: A bay artists signing with a major label that they're okay with, fans in the bay will still download the artists' music citing the fact that "Well they on a major now, they don't need my money". :ermm:

The lemmings in the bay area and on this site say "Fuck G-Unit" and "Fuck snitch ass 50" because their favorite rapper says the same shit (usually Yuk). Ask one of these sheep to give an intelligent reason as to why they're so against G-Unit or Eminem or Dr Dre or Jay Z and you will hear nothing but crickets.

I would love to see an explaination by one of the G-Unit detractors on this board as to why they don't like G-Unit. I also would love to see this explaination not contain something that another rapper has already said...

I think the teams got that mainstream sound, i think g units wack and i dont realy like the team, i think theyd sorta be sellin out there culture by doing this. Because were independent out here puttin some dope on tracks if our country just turned one of its eyes to the bay it would be over for most other rappers. I cant get over how much realer our music is and i think some of that has to do with us not being on mtv and all the media bullshit. Even 5-6 years ago i was comfortable with how the bay was because its just the best rap music to me plain n simple. Dope Shit

:cheeky: So .. you think the team has that mainstream sound but signing with a major like G-Unit would be selling out? What do you think these artists are in it for? M O N E Y .... People need to start proof reading their thoughts before hitting the submit button.

This is a perfect example of what I'm talking about...

Duh. Through a major label is the the way for this to happen.

C'mon people! Put the pills down and get some common sense about yourselves!

I think I understand now. There is a certain percentage of bay rap fans that are afraid of losing the kind of music that they love - which is understandable. Whenever they hear of one of their favorite artists potentially going to a major they're afraid said artists' sound is going to change to something that they won't like. This is selfish if you ask me - what about the artists' livelyhood? So instead of expressing that fear (mufuckas too hard to do that around here), these fans HATE on whatever label that's potentially looking at one of the bay artists... I get it. FEAR.

Shiiiiet .. a hit record is a hit record. If they sold a million units fuckin wit G-Unit, fuck some respect from an area that barely supports them anyway. They don't owe the bay a goddamn thang!

Cats put too much stock in this territorial respect/loyalty bullshit. This aint geography mufucka, and this sure aint the Corleone family - this is the music business! When you have a hit record you transcend all that bullshit. Eminem is a perfect example of this...

G-Unit is in a slump, but all it takes is a hit record and BAM! back on top. Never forget that. And that goes for anybody...

This story is highly not believable due to the fact that 50 Cent is the C.E.O of G Unit and he running that shit and he is still in Canada on his tour. Dude said they signing to Shady Records and G Unit thats two different major record labels how is that possible to sign two major deals at the same time? Maybe they signing to Shady Records but I doubt G Unit.

Duece Out!

There really is a line to be drawn between artists out to make money and artists out to further the music. G-Units raping hip-hop and spreading idiocy. The difference between G-Units shit and the bay area?

Bay area rappers hustle and strive and build off of originality. If the bay blew up most artists wouldn't have to work as hard to be noticed and there probably wouldn't be anything like hyphy again for example.
