I was listening to "Wakin 'Em Up" and besides being amazed by the hoodstarz fantastic lyrics....I was also overwhelmed by the great MC named Turf Talk. So amazed, in fact, I started searching thru my itunes looking for some more of his lyrical prowess. Then I found "Scrape Scoot" by Big Rich. Turf Talk decimated this one...it takes a lyrical super genius to use the same verse on 2 different songs.

the shit sounded like the same verse....although now that I listen he just has hella different bars that he already said on different songs....and I know hyphy foos don't often have lyrics....its just sad that people this bad can still get by.....although he manages to get on some of the best damn beats in the bay

Hyphy= Energy...not lyrics. You almost have to judge it differently than hip-hop/ rap music. Miami Bass, Crunk and now Hyphy music is driven by energy so the actual rappers skill level is not that important. As long as they can ride the beat, say the key slangs and keep you movin to the beat they did a good job with in this form of music.

but turf talk doesnt ride the beat....I mean look at crunk shit.....take ying yang for example....they aren't the best rappers, but they rhyme for the most part....its as if turf talk tries his hardest to put the dumbest shit together....I get the "go dumb" but not "try to sound dumb"....I mean, e-40 has an unorthodox style, but he still rides the beats when he's not spitting at 100 miles per hour....turf just doesn't even try
