Lets make one thing clear, I dont have any reason to get up here and lie to you folks. This forum has been a good source if information for me for a long time (despite all the ignorance) and I'm just sharing A lil bit of info I came up on that I hadnt seen addressed here. If it wasnt from me it woulda been someone else 20 minutes later.

The difference is that everybody know what air forces are so they really didnt say nike in the song. What else would you call vans other then, vans?

these are all videos that mtv had on their rotation, and were never banned. i doubt it has to do with copywrite, cause from what it looks like, vans (the company) has been fully supportive of the song (why wouldnt they? its free advertisement for them). the only thing i can think of is that mtv doesnt want to offer free advertisement for vans, but if so what about the songs that i just listed above?

This explanation makes the most sense, seeing as we do not have the actual facts. You have to figure MTV affiliated stations get alot of advertising dollars from skateboard affiliated products and brands. if one of those brands has a "no competitors", or some other clause that restricts advertising for certain products, then MTV has to live up to that contract. I dont watch enogh MTV to know who the advertiser would be to have an issue, but that would be my guess.
