Yall remember the rapper I posted who used all the voices. People were really impressed and lovin it to the fullest http://www.siccness.net/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65531

Well, he will be on KPOO tonight at 5pm. That is the song that the DJ will play and he will ask him questions. Should be interesting. He will also be interviewing Big Mel and playing one of his songs. We'll have an artist on there for probably the next 3 Sundays.

This kid, Many Phases.... yall I am now a convert. He is no longer my "little cousin" he is a full fledged monster. His content makes you think, he's an MC with the ability to spit and impress with his lyrics, but he is more of a rapper. I really can't label him because he is a little bit of everything. I now call him "The One" or "The Golden Child".

On top of all that he is a networker. He's a magnet. Established artists meet him and 9 times out of 10 they end up remembering him for one reasonor the other.

Saw a performance of his last night in Oakland.... it was insane. I have never seen an artist vibe with a crowd like that except for Too $hort back in the day. Everybody was yellin out the hook, giggin'... it was phenominal. At that moment, it was like it just hit me: this kid has over 200 raps written and memorized, he turns out lyrically perfect songs in the studio in under an hour, he has a hook/angle/gimmick, he's young and good lookin (marketability), and he has stage presence... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what that means.

You're about to rape his publishing and steal all his copyrights before he REALLY makes it big? Just a guess...
Not only is he an artist, but he's family. The last thing I want to do would be to fuck him over.

That's one of the reason that I have pushed him to other labels who have the financial wherewithal to plug him right away instead of him waiting in line at PaperTrail.

Its also the reason that I have helped him license 3 of his songs to clients who were looking for background music to their DVD's (which pay double mechanical) without taking a fee.... which basically menas he maintains 100% of the licensing fee and the royalties.... I got money. The studio that they operate out of is in one of my homes that I was going to rent out. I am not a big baller by any means, but this music business is more than just a business to me. Investments, real estate, and a side hustle, that's where I get my life $ from. This music is a love of mine and I want to help out this game that is not really conducive to the small man breakin in.

I'm finna load up that song again and slap it on soundclick. I'll also put up that song he performed last night. You should have seen the DJ X 1's face when he played the song and he told him al lthe voices on there were him. It was hella funny. I don't think he believed him at first.

Gimme a minute on the audio

Here's a link to a soundclick page.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/djshammusic.htm

"I'mma Ka,000,000" is on there
"Ridin in the Sunshine" is a little ridin music song.
"Branch Off" is the one he performed the other night.

Honestly, the first time I hear his shit I usually scratch my head (except for ridin int he sunshine). I just am not really into this new shit. As a matter of fact I told him I wasn't feelin' "Branch Off"
when he did it. Then here he is a few days later turnin shit out on stage with it. I was stunned.
Now when I listen to it in the car, I lean to the left.

is this the cat who changed his voices...
if so, then dude's sick...
him and z-man are the only cats i've heard come like that
I knew he was good, remember I posted about him earlier. I guess it wasn't until I saw him on stage that it hit me. I was like...damn. I've seen a lot of artists perform, but I have never seen any shit quite like that. The shit he does on the records with the voices... he actually does that shit in person seamlessly. But now that I realize his total potential, Damn, I gotta get him out there. I am usually just so fucking cynical about shit. I thought that Branch Off song was small-time. He has such better shit, in my opinion.... but when I looked around and realized I was the only person not yellin out the hook I couldn't believe it.

Ive heard the multi-style thing before, but never really in the same track. Its alright...i guess my only qualm is, the only difference i really notice is a change in pitch/voice...with only slight changes in nuance of style/structure. Essentially......to my untrained ear, it sounds like a West Coast slush with no real focal point.
rhyme style, flow, voice, structure are all different. To the point where I actually have a favorite (robotica 5.7). I thought the Ka,000,000 showed that pretty well. Anyway, seeing it on stage go back and forth was something I will never forget.

I will pass on those sentiments to the artists if for nothing else than to motivate him. "They say your personalities all have the same rhyme patter." :devious: That will be motivating/shocking for him. Everything for the good , thanks. My two and a half is that he is unique and there will be people that think it is corny and pay it no attention. Happens with unique stuff. I probably shouldn't be talking him up like this, but the siccness has taught me (with Ice Cold Heat) that you have to force the issue or else people wont give shit a second thought.

@ Game Warden

If you're going to pass on the word to an artist, I probably should have qualified myself with that last post, so he won't just pass my review off as a commonplace fan chatter. I also have messed around with the multi-style stuff, but i usually do it on separate tracks: multi-syllable here, west coast there, battle-style tracks, and so on.

What i'm basically saying is, to me, Many Phases is leaning towards 'all' his styles being West Coast, and doesn't have much Southern and NorthEastern influence. So unless he's very BLATANT (again, to my 'untrained' ear, since i'm none too familiar with his craft), I can't really tell the difference.

I will definately give these another listen though. Anybody willing to fuck around with 3 or more styles, and run with it, has my respect.....

I pass on feedback because he's hungry and wants to know if people are feeling his shit. He always ask me to let him know what people think. The NJAILUMYHOE cat gave his opinion that it was garbage. I wouldn't pass that on becuause its not laced with anything. Your comments, with his type of personality, will motivate him to make things even more pronounced. He is a creative person who is a little eccentric. Not game-light by any means. So its all good.

Ay, I didn't know you could record things off soundclik. I guess that's a mistake of mine right there. damn

Well, I guess the pendulum swings both ways. I had the kid perform at the delinquents record release party. Didn't go nearly as smoothly. Technical glitches (mic fuckin up) kinda had him frustrated. Wasn't the same vibe inthe audience and so he didn't really have them movin like last time. DOn't get me wrong, he did his thing, but I could tell that the problems he faced onstage took away his steam and it was nothing like last time. He wasn't even looking at the crowd. Gotta work with him to overcome the problems that WILL happen on stage. But the boy got talent.

Who turned it out was Mistah F.A.B. representin the town to the fullest and puttin it down somethin vicious on the mic. I was very impressed.
