@The Duke Of Earl.....You can actually get cans of tuna in olive oil instead of water.....And @discuss650, olive oil also contains lots of fat, but its good fat......
Every morning for breakfast I eat oatmeal, here's the recipe....
1/2 cup quick oats
1 cup water
Mix those in a bowl
Add a handful of frozen fruit, usually I get the 4 mixed berries kind, it contains blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries. But also buy several varieties of bags of frozen fruit to keep in the freezer so I can switch it up sometimes and occasionally get the strawberry, peach, mango kind. Whatever I feel like...
Then throw that in the microwave for 3 minutes give or take. I always stop it half-way and stir it up. If it's too thick, just add a bit more water......Once that's done, add some brown sugar if you like, and a pinch of cinnamon. Other things you can add are: dried fruit (bananas, apricot, etc that you can buy in bulk at the grocery store...), vanilla, coconut, craisins (dry cranberries), a spoonful of natural peanut butter, almond slivers....the possibilities are endless.....
You can also make this in a large pot on Sunday and store it in a tupperware for the week. Just heat it up each morning. ....I usually don't because it only takes about 5 minutes to make and it's better fresh.....All you need to remember is it's about 2 parts water to 1 part oats.....
I eat this every morning and after I'll have a protein shake (Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate Flavour). I always have the shake after the oatmeal because the oats are very filling. They are slow-burning carbs and should last you until lunch time......
