the Eagle is soaring........

Klose will steal this tournament and I feel will win his second golden boot.....he is a beast and with Podolski and him up front they work magic together...Mueller is also very nice and Cacau makes a great compliment. The depth of our club never ceases to amaze me.....I would have like to see Neuer tested a bit more though.

I'm not going to get too excited; its way too early for that. I knew we would run through the Aussies, they are way too old to play with us. Ghana will be a better test, they are a solid club....
So you are German?

Great first game. Couldn't have been any better for us. I thought Australia was gonna be way stronger, at least in the defense, but all they did was try to injure our players. I agree, the red card shoulda been a yellow one, but the Mexican referee, who had a good second half, had to make an example of the guy. Australians were fouling left and right, shit was making me hella mad at that point. The game could have went differently if Australia made that early goal, but i have my doubts they would have pulled through..Germany simply plays in another leaugue...props on being a fair loser though Syco...

And leave it to zee Germans to finally score some goals and not just show a boring, unattractive 1:0. This team is so talented, i don't even know what they're capable of right now. Only weak point might be the inner defense. But still, Klose proved how important he can be when it counts, and so did Podolski. Özil and Müller are fuckin beeeaaaaasts...those guys are the future. And Cacau really is a strong ass backup for Klose....those guys are young and ruthless.. and in it to win it. Im not tooo hyped right now, cause to be real, a 4:0 against Australia (no disrespect) doesn't really prove anything but the fact we're on a good way with this team.

Yea Germany looked like champions today...

I just want to see them verse a good team: Brasil, Argentina, England, Portugal, Spain.
England's press is already shitting their pants. They're great at blowing things out of proportion. I hope they only make 2nd place in their group and we face them in the first knockout stage :siccness:

we beat portugal last world cup for 3rd place, and our team is better now, even though its mostly the same in key positions.....we lost to spain in euro 2008 for 2nd place, they are a great team, they play beautful football....brasil would give us a run for our money.....the world cup definitely goes through one of those 4-5 teams though..

* If only John Terry had lived next door to Robert Green's missus...

* Why is Robert Green like ITV HD? They both switch off at the crucial moment.

* What does Robert Green do after winning the World Cup? Drops his controller.

* At least that's one British spillage the Americans won't be moaning about...

* What's the difference between Robert Green and Justin Bieber? Robert Green knows how to drop his balls.

* Kermit was right: It's not easy being Green.

* All these Rob Green jokes are getting out of hand. In fact they're crossing the line...

* The England lads had a get-together after the game and bought Robert Green a drink to commiserate. He spilled it.

* Steven Gerrard said: "The whole team is behind Rob Green." With hindsight, that's a good place to stand.

* Robert Green's bringing out his own South African trumpet. It's known as a boo-boozela

* Robert Green - a joke even Americans can understand.

* Yesterday at London Zoo one of the staff let a a Central American monkey slip out of his grasp. So Robert Green's not the only English keeper to drop a Howler.

* My computer's got the Robert Green virus. It can't save anything.

* Just bought a Robert Green condom. Extra slippery and you're guaranteed not to catch anything.

* Rob Green has injured himself. Apparently, he put his head in his hands and immediately kneed himself in the face.

* What's the difference between a botanist with the flu and the England goalkeeper? One has Green fingers and can catch a cold...

* Before he got into football, Robert Green was a bus driver. But he got fired because he couldn't make any stops.

* I'm Robert Green and cleaning Windows is my next idea...

And the best England v USA joke which doesn't feature Robert Green is.. .

* It was a clever move to bring Shaun Wright-Phillips on. For 15 minutes the Americans were stunned, thinking Gary Coleman had come back to life.

A few observations:

The Jabulani ball is absolutely killing the play so far. Apparently, they intended for more goals to be scored when they designed it and that's why they made it so fast and bouncy, but it backfires very badly now, as we've seen only 13 goals in 8 games because most of the time it's damn difficult to string more than a few passes together. If it goes on like this, it will be the lowest scoring world cup in history. Most likely it will not be though, as players will adapt by simply starting taking pot shots any time they are within 40 meters of the goal, and we will see many goals as a result of the ball changing direction in flight and making the goalkeeper look stupid (we already saw two such goals). Which is hardly a good thing, of course, it's a world cup and it should not be decided by fluke bounces of the ball

Even with the bad ball, the quality of the teams that played so far has been abysmally low. 32 teams in a World Cup is just too many, especially when the gap between the top 3 or 4 leagues in Europe and everyone else is so big. Teams that don't have a lot of players in the top European teams simply have no chance.

Germany looked good indeed but two things have to be remembered. First, while Australia is a solid side, they are not world class, and second, it's a time-honored tradition that the teams that looks most impressive in the group stage fails to win it all, with very few exceptions. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I can't se what difference he would made in last nights game. They played great.

The thing I like with Germany is they attack with at least 3 players and they are all there in a second. It's very rare you see i.e Podilski with the ball and he is all alone and after a minute or two Klose limps up.

I hope Mexico win I don't think France belong here this time

Every Worldcup players complain about the ball...retarded. Seriously.

Germany has always been a team to get better with each game. That's what Germany is known for...

I have a question for everybody. Do players wear metal cleats (studs)? Somebody told me they don't anymore, but I didn't believe him...
hell yeah they do. and some don't.... all the Nike elite soccer cleats are metal that the pros wear for the most part, and then green from england, the keeper, was wearing like adicore cleats that werent metal but they were hella long

Have you ever seriously played this game? If you have, you would know why they are complaining just by watching the game on TV. It is painfully obvious.

Goalkeepers have been complaining about every new ball since 2002 when they started drastically changing the technology. But this is the first time the outfield players are complaining too, and once the players start complaining, you know there is a problem...

I seriously doubt we will scrape Serbia and Ghana like we did Australia. Those games are gonna be way different. No one here overestimates the win from last night. Besides, Germany is a "time-honored" tournament team. They will become even better in the course of the WC and grow together. This was the first time EVER that they played in this particular formation, there's still a lot of room for improvement. Besides, other top teams like Brazil, Spain, Holland, Portugal etc haven't even played yet, so it's a little early to judge.
