Hype my ass, Bush is gonna be huge watch.
I didn't say he wouldn't. Tha Saints didn't need him, they have Deuce McAllister. The hype drove them to choose him with the 2nd pick. They had needs all over the place, but RB was not one of the positions they needed.

Speaking of HUGE, that's why White hasn't been drafted yet. He has gained a ton of wieght, there was the drug test that came out last week, and on top of all that durability issues.
He's LOST weight since the last game he played.. So I don't see how the fuck you figure he's gained a ton of weight. And the drug test did not cause him to drop into the 2nd round. 4 RBs were drafted before him, and he was considered by most to be the 4th best back in the draft. But the fact that NOT MANY TEAMS NEED A RUNNINGBACK is what caused him to drop into the second round. And by need I mean their primary need to address.

How can I say it? By looking at what each team has, then coming to the conclusion that not many teams have a RB as a primary need.

Klopf off the board, now they need fassano or pope...but I would rather have had mercedes or klopf!
I think the Broncos feel that Wesley Duke will grow this year into a great red-zome threat.
I am hoping Eric Winston falls to 61.

Well lets see. White was projected by most to be a top 15 pick, but then he got hurt, had the drug thing come out and the wieght gain. But, you are right all the scouts are wrong he did lose weight....unless you read this:

Some people have Carolina picking Lendale White, but after his weight gain and lack of strength on his pro day, I just don't see him being a reliable player. Besides those things, he has managed to avoid running the 40 yard dash. That tells me he would probably run a slow 40, and he knows that would take him out of the first round behind Joseph Addai.

NFL Draft Summary

Frank Coyle: Big, talented tailback finally was selected after a disappointing offseason. He fell significantly after coming in overweight at a workout with a hamstring injury. He is a terrific goal-line runner and a young back who, if healthy, could prove to be a major steal here.

or this from USA TODAY:

The timing of the well-documented injury is bad because clubs are being asked to make an enormous investment in a ballcarrier without being sure of what time he can produce in the 40-yard dash, a critical gauge. A recent weight gain at such an important stage of his life, from 238 at the scouting combine in late February to 244 at USC's pro day April 2, raises questions about his dedication and makes his situation worse.

And yes why would Saints want Bush, when they have a perfectly healthy Deuce who played 5 games last year, and tore the league up for 1060 yards and a steller 8 td's the year prior to that.

Not too mention they can use both Bush and Deuce at the same time on the field to help open things up for Brees..but yes it was a hype pick. If they didn't want him they could have easily traded down to 4 - 10 and gained another draft pick or 2 later and still get the #1 player on thier board.

Now no teams not needing a back...hmm, Indy sure doesn't need one after losing Edge, Carolina and thier hurt rb crew are sure bets, How about that great Stephen Jackson in St Louis, Cleveland needed a back..unless Droughns is the answer...yeah right, Tennesse (were he went) sure was on the right track with Brown, Jacsonville got a virtually injury free year from Fred Taylor and he sure tore it up as well, how bout Minnesota, San Fran or Green Bay..they didn't need backs either huh?

Wow, I never realized the NFL was stockpiled with great talent at rb's on all the teams, 16 with over 1000 yards...what about the other 16 teams? and 1000 yards is a weak line to judge nowadays, 1300 is more like it, and only 9 did that.

Bush was taken because of the hype.
Good call.... Even though Deuce blew out his ACL last year they signed him to a multi-year contract and they signed Bennett from Minnesota so they didn't even need Bush or another running back. They're loaded at running back now... they should of drafted AJ Hawk. They haven't had a good linebacker in years. Only New Orleans would do some dumb shit like that. I think they drafted him because of the hype instead of drafting to fill a need.

I think both of y'all (Fatal and thascary 1) are making good points but my personal opinion of White is that he is lazy. I wouldn't draft him because he hit only 15 reps with 225 on the bench...while Bush who is smaller hit 225 like 24 or 25 times. Plus White didn't even run the 40 yard dash. The fool could be hella slow for a running back by NFL standards. He could be big and weak. Hittin' 225 only 15 times... that's a damn shame. He's going to be a bust.

To Chree... Culter is better. Leinhart was surrounded by talent at USC. Cutler wasn't. Culter is more mobile and has a stronger NFL calibur arm than Leinhart does. Why do you think Denver traded up to snatch him? What's wrong with you?

exactly, he is lazy and that's why he gained wieght. If he couldn't stay at playing wieght before the biggest day of his life what is he going to do after getting paid a signing bonus?

Now I disagree with him being a bust though. I see him being a Mike Alstott sort of a player, not the best but not a bust.

Cutler will be way better than Lienert in the long run. He is more accurate, and can throw on the run. Lienert is purely drop back, once the pressure gets there he goes down, no escapabilty at all.

Yeah I hear you... it's like comparing Elway to Bledsoe... Bledsoe can kill you from the pocket if he has time... like Leinart. Cutler reminds me of Elway because he can run and he's got a strong accurate arm.

In a interview Lendale said he actually lost weight... He said he weighed in at around 252 after the rose bowl and is now 232 or somethin like that

Jeez I just read Vernon Davis ran a 4.38 40. I hope he can play to go with that speed. With that kind of speed, i bet the raiders would have taken him if the niners hadn't.

DE Manny Lawson and some little WR,

But What i was saying is, The Broncos wanted Leinart bad, they attempted to trade for him, but no1 would budge, and after arz choose him, they didnt wanna take a chance and get no1......... I heard that Buffalo wanted their 2nd rounder and 1st to move to #8, but that 2nd rounder was used to get Javon Walker

I watched Cutler in the Combine on the throwing drills, he was all over the place. Call it nerves or whatever but he did not impress me. Also he was playing weak comp in College. I think he will be solid, but not a great QB.

Bears went for two reincarnations of Jerry Azumah and a Chris Hovan clone, rofl. I'm kinda hyped about the Devin kid from Miami. I remember before the season started he was in the heisman talks, turned out to be a bust, but hopefully Lovie and the D can make him get his shit together.

THASCARY1,

WHY YOU THINK DENVER WENT FOR A QB?
You won't hear why from the media, but here's the real story.

Over the last few months, Plummer's been talking down on the Broncos. While in the weight room in the off-season he was talking shit about the mandatory off-season lifting and all the criticism coming down on him. He confided in someone that he had plenty of money and planned to retire soon. He wanted to retire in a way that it was kind of a shocker and unexpected. Jim Brown/Robert Smith style while still fairly young. One of the Broncos veterans happen to hear the conversation (or was part of it) and went and snitched on Plummer. Letting the coaches know of his intentions. The Broncos decided fuck it, if he's gonna fuck us we're gonna fuck him by drafting Cutler. I am guessing that Plummer's erratic play had a lot to do with it too.

And on to Ashley Lelie:

From what I hear, they tried as hard as they could to ship him out. Only one team (TB) would talk to us and they wouldn't give up anything. Sounds like the Broncos don't want him at all. His attitude is getting him on everyone's $hitlist. No one in the organization, from Bowlen to the janitor, wants this guy around. Doesn't want to workout with the team in the off-season either.

Denver always targeted Cutler as the qb they wanted since day 1 after the end of the season! I don't know where you heard that from, but that is false.
