I don't know if you have heard the CD yet, but in my opinion it fuckin slaps. The NW needs to support this album, E-40 fucks with the Northwest and if he blows up it can only open up doors for us. Bosko produced 2 of the tracks and appears on 3. It drops Tuesday, go out and buy it, and spread the word.

Did you seriously just say, "IF E-40 blows up"? Dude's been in the game and BEEN known for the past fuckin decade. And the "Tell me When to Go" song isn't very tight no matter what the hyphy groupies say. The video isn't very tight and I really can't understand SHIT that Keak says, except for "gran daddy," "hyphy," and "wifey"-maybe a couple other words. Sorry to say but the hyphy movement is a rip off of crunk-why you think Lil Jon is fuckin with them? It's about the money not the music. Just cause it's popular doesn't mean it's "good" or "quality." Just my opinion though, looks like I'm one of the only ones.
To each his own. What I meant by E-40 blowing up was that of course he's been around for years and is a well known cat in the rap game, but I mean blowin up in terms of album sales. There's a handful of cats on the BART forum that don't like the album but are picking it up anyway because they recognize the importance of it to the Bay. I picked up 2 myself and gave one of them to my friend.
You can look at hyphy as a rip off of crunk if you want, but the bay has been ripped off way more times than anybody else has. And if Lil Jon is backing it that shows that it's not much of a rip off. IMO it is way better than crunk. It's more uptempo, better lyrics, and it's not just music either. They got their own way of dancing, dressing, talking, driving, etc. Crunk didn't have all that.

I'm just commenting on the fact that people aren't buying it because it's "really good quality music" they're buying it cause someone tells them to or cause they wanna feel apart of something-riding the bandwagon. Just cause something is important doesn't mean that quality should be overlooked. I don't care if it's the Bay's last chance and I have to buy the shit for them to make it, if it's not good I don't care.
And yes, I will think of hyphy that way. And just cause "the bay has been ripped of way more times than anybody else has" doesn't make recylcing crunk justifiable from the stance of a critic like me. You talk all about Lil Jon but he aint even on the album, and he gave some of his best beats I have ever heard to E-40 for this album. He's backin it because he digs the hyphy lifestyle. This ain't about no bandwagon shit either. I ain't buying this because it's a "hyphy" album. I'm buying it because I'm an E-40 fan and have been for about 10 years. Not everybody bought this album just to buy it, they bought it because the shit is quality. The beats on this album are on some next level shit. If you don't like the album then fine, but listen to the thing all the way through once before you make your final opinion. And to say hyphy is the same thing as crunk I will give you a run down to prove you wrong. The following is a list of hyphy things that have nothing to do with crunk.
