The Mighty Quinn??

I got that "357 is the code "-that was the shit even though too many features. And I got that classic "Explosive mode" wit MessY Marv and that "Quinndo Mania" which was just "OK" to me. Now I'm bout to get that "Balls and my Word" but what about that 2001 "Mighty Quinn" is that worth gettin today? How is it?

The Mighty Quinn is a different sounding cd...I didn't care that much for it, but it's still ok..It's not a terrible cd....some really like it and others dont...its jus preference....my fav quinn cd's is live n direct and the hustle continues....oh yea and the new one i give you my word...

Yup. IMHO, THE MIGHTY QUINN is decent, but not excellent. I like it now, but it took me a couple of listens to get into it--lyrically, Quinn's not terribly different than he ever is--the main difference was that the MQ music was more mainstream-y sounding than before (i.e. singing on the choruses, more songs about chicks, etc). I like it now, but yeah, you should get his classics first (LIVE-N-DIRECT, THE HUSTLE CONTINUES and I GIVE YOU MY WORD as soon as you can find a store that has it).

Quinn himself doesn't claim much for THE MIGHTY QUINN--he said in interviews on BART and in MURDER DOG that he wanted to try to change his image at the time, but that in retrospect it was a mistake, because (1) the CD ultimately wasn't really "him" (his words), and (2) the record company (Champeli) wanted to act like a major when they really didn't have the funds or power to do so...

Good lookin out on all the feedback. I know I fucked up a couple of the title names but I was rushing and shit. I apologize. I see yall niggas was trippin off that shit. But I've only been fuckin wit Quinn for 2 years. And he is raw as hell to me. But niggas this way is sleep on him and all the new Bay area cats. Just as well as yall sleep on alot of shit this way. That "Quinndo Mania" was cool but a little too mellow. That "457" and "Explosive Mode" both are classics. And that double disc 93'-03' "GLP" is off the chain. I fucks wit Quinn but fell out wit JT after that "Project Poetry".
