Lil Jon had a very successful career as a producer BEFORE crunk, and yet he is ONLY associated with that one sound. Its because he put himself out there to be the FACE of crunk, just as Fab has done to be the face of HYPHY. Yellow Bus, retard helmet, spongebob backpacks, loud colors, "shabooboolaboopie"?? Fab pushed that stuff as HIS image, and made HIMSELF the face of HYPHY. So noone should complain that when the hyphy movement died, so did Fab's buzz. He is just now trying to dig himself out of that hole.

I, for one, am interested in hearing how he does on the new mixtape.

But i dont cry for him for suffering the problems he himself created. If he is THAT talented and popular like every dickrider on here sez, then he should have NO problem coming back strong, right?
The thing is, FABs buzz hasn't died. He's gotten more known since Ghost Ride It. He's been touring all over America pushing his shit. Like I said he been lighting shows up, going to the Ozone Awards, dropping mixtape after mixtape. Pushing. But people still want to bring back "This nigga is a clown." Naw man that was three years ago.

This is my point. U calling me a dickrider? I hope not. Just because I'm defending a nigga dont make me a dickrider. If u aint a hater than I aint a dickrider, so check yaself bruh bruh.

the hyphy stigma..
just like many people before has said, its hard for people to accept fab for being more than 'hyphy' becuz they never heard of him until hyphy was in the spotlight. first impressions are always the most important and is what sticks in a persons mind. fab might have come off to people outside the bay as corny and they automatically decide to be closed-minded towards the rest of his music. also people on ahh and hhdx are like cattle, if one person says that an artist is wack, then everyone else falls in line and agrees. i think Fab has what it takes to reach the next level becuz hard work pays off

lol...just to set set the record straight the man is FAR from "suffering." He is committed as ever to his work and has done many impressive pieces of work which are YET to be released. Just remember the current climate in the music industry is one never seen before and record labels are not taking the chances they use to because of the lost of profits over the last 2+ years. But the man has a buzz, locally as well as nationally and especially within the industry and he is even more so motivated by those who doubt him so please keep doubting. But just go to one of his shows...he packs the house, just walk down the street with him, someone will stop and want a picture or an autograph- he is a very relevant artist and honestly he is at the start of his career.

On another note, ive been a member here for a long time and only post on particular topics for obvious reasons. I would most likely take more time to post in these forums if we could really express opinions without being called "haters" or "dickriders." Those have to be two of the most ignorant trump cards that we use in hip-hop discourse today. It makes it hard for people to really want to express their ideas/thoughts and a lot of times turns good debates into just mud slinging.

But great topic overall. I would also like to hear peoples opinons on why people think a movement that seemed to have a lot of promise seemed to almost stop dead in its tracks. I have my own thoughts which are lack of support by the major stations in the area, but what do other people think?

^^^ u rite bruh I was just saying that a lot of people lump FAB into those type of categories before they even hear him rap. They're going off his past shit instead of what's he's done latley. That ain't cool.

He never said that he wasn't fitting at times into either of theses genres of rap music. For all one knows Fab or any other artist that gained media coverage and attention from when the nation was curious about Hyphy-- they all might be proud of what they did. Artist are suppose to grow if they are really in the arts for the right reason.

The thing is, people write Fab's new music off as "hyphy" before they even hear it. They not giving his new shit a chance. This is not me dissing hyphy, I'm probably one of the only people on Siccness that's willing to admit that he still listens to hyphy, I'm getting at the people that hate on FAB for hate's sake. They writing him off before hearing what he has to say. The same thing that the whole rap game has been doing to the BAY. FAB is like a microcosom to Bay music.

I understand your point, but the past usually dictates the future. If you've had a history of making crap music (Not talking about FAB), you're going to have to release something that just slaps to change that. BUT, you already have that stigma of being a shitty rapper, so you're working your way through the BS.

Look at Cee-Lo Green, because he was on Goodie Mob, you assume that he's a rapper. But if someone was to give me a CD saying, "Yo, this is Cee-Lo's new shit, it's hot!" AND THAT'S IT, I assume it'll be similar to what I"ve heard of. As soon as I press play, and I hear a Gnarls Barkley song, I will be surprised, either positively or negatively.

And that my friends explains Mistah F.A.B. unfortunate situation. TBIB

OP, You are a dick rider. A lot of your posts is usually fabby this, fabby that. And it doesnt help that you felt the need to post up pictures of him as if we didnt know who the fuck you were talking about.
