I know the Gov's real name is Joseph Flowers but I wanted to know if this was him.
Second suspect in Christmas robbery, kidnap in custody
Four days after a man suspected of kidnapping a masseuse during a San Rafael robbery turned himself in, the second suspect was caught Saturday near Sacramento.
Joseph Jerome Flowers, 36, of Hayward was being held without bail in Sacramento County Jail after being apprehended by police in Carmichael, San Rafael police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said. An anonymous tip received by Crime Stoppers led police to Flowers, who was arrested without incident, Rohrbacher said.
Flowers was on parole in the East Bay, had a "history of violence," and was believed to be armed and dangerous. He was also known as Kedar Zahir, Joseph Ours, Joseph Favor, Jerome Mason and Joseph Mays. His hometown is unknown by authorities.
Flowers was arrested at 3:22 p.m. Saturday in Carmichael, about 10 miles east of Sacramento.
"The tip was certainly timely and accurate in terms of location," Rohrbacher said.
Douglas Patterson, 31, of Hayward surrendered to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday and was booked into that county's jail on suspicion of kidnapping and robbery. Patterson, whose bail was set at $700,000, was transferred to the Marin County Jail on Thursday.
The incident occurred at 6:25 p.m. Dec. 24 when two men entered the New Day Health Center massage parlor at 4140 Redwood Highway in San Rafael, wielded a handgun and robbed three women employees of cash.
Then they forced one of the women into their car and drove off. The 37-year-old woman was dropped off about an hour later in Point Richmond, shaken but uninjured.
The incident was taped by surveillance cameras at the massage studio, and the videos were widely published in the media. Patterson turned himself in after realizing he was being sought for questioning, Rohrbacher said.
Police developed additional information identifying Flowers as the second suspect.
