WHAT:
Stressfree Printing, City of Oakland Parks and Recreation Department and will host the Second Annual “Preparing Our Youth For Their Future” event. The event will provide necessary school supplies to needy children in preparation for school, absolutely FREE!!!
The basic school supplies of new backpacks, pencils, rulers, notebooks, crayons, calculators, etc., will be pre-assembled in the backpacks and distributed to the youth in attendance at the event. KPFA Radio Personalities Anita Johnson and T-Kash will participate in the distribution of school supplies.
US Congresswoman Barbara Lee will bestow the Congressional Community Service Award upon Ahmed __________of _____________Check Cashing. Ahmed is a generous donor and committed community activist who continues to support the same community in which his son was killed. Hi son, Ali Abdallah was an innocent young man who was murdered on September 23, 2006 around 97th and "E" Streets in Oakland, CA around 9:00pm after he returned home from work.
