Legendary political rappers back on the attack with new album.
by IGN Music
January 26, 2006 - Politically charged Bay Area based rap crew The Coup are poised to release their new album, Pick A Bigger Weapon, on April 22nd, 2006.

Coup frontman Boots will be joined this time around by a Who's Who of eclectic musicians including a band comprised of Audioslave's Tom Morello, Dwayne Wiggins, and veterans of Parliament-Funkadelic, the Gap Band, Toni! Tony! Toné!, Jesse Johnson, and Frankie Beverly and Maze, as well as rappers Talib Kweli, Black Thought, and poet/political prankster Jello Biafra.

The connections with Morello were made back in 2003 when Boots and The Coup toured as part of the Tell Us The Truth Tour. "This album took a bit longer, because all of these influences were getting a chance to settle," says Boots. "I always think my next album is gonna be my last, like it may not sell and I'll have to do something else. So it drives me to make an album that people might remember as the best one I did."
