It's Rocky & Sugar Ray Leonard, one of the best fighters of all time. They also have a well known trainer who has trained several champs. Rocky is actually the producer; it was his idea for the show, so it’s not like some people just decided to have Rocky.

The show is great, imo. I didn’t expect it was going to be that good, but then I found out that the contenders are actually pros, and not just some chumps off the streets.

One of the guys who fought last night was 21-0, ranked number 3 in the world....and he lost to a huge under-dog. These fights also count on their professional records.

I like the show because it really focuses on the fighters life- what their thinking, what their family is thinking, what kind of background they come from etc. It makes it much more personal and you can feel the emotions of the boxers. The guy who lost last night, I felt hella bad for because he had this cute little girl who he obviously loved and wanted a better life for her. After the match, dude was in tears and said he's been boxing since the age of 5 and that's all he knows. He said he didn’t know what he can do and that he let down his family and his daughter.

I can see how much pressure and stress is put on the fighters and it's no surprise one of the contestants committed suicide.

i remember reading about a dude that was supposed to be on one of these and ended up killing himself

PHILADELPHIA - A contestant in the upcoming NBC boxing reality series "The Contender" fatally shot himself in the head early Monday while sitting in a parked car in West Philadelphia, police said.

Najai "Nitro" Turpin, 22, address unknown, killed himself around 4 a.m. in front of his girlfriend, police said
Turpin, who trained at James Shuler Gym in West Philadelphia, might have been despondent that he was prohibited from fighting until after the season finale on May 24, according to his trainer.
Turpin, who won a City Recreation Department 147-pound division in 2000, apparently had gained some 20 pounds because he stopped working out, said his trainer, Percy "Buster" Custus.

"It wasn't about the money. Fighters want to fight," Custus said Monday. "He was frustrated, because he was, like, training for nothing. He had no motivation. I don't know if that had anything to do with what happened today or not."

I love boxing but ultimate fighter is a pimp ass show.... this show isn't bad though... the dude that won last night was a hardcore underdog and won. That dude is from my town I went to highschool with the dude and I never knew he was a boxer.
