I haven't clicked it because I know it's not the greatest goalline stand ever. Afc Championship game. Broncos VS Browns and Broncos get Browns to fumble at the goalline get the recovery and go onto Super Bowl!

Maybe you should click on it...cause apparantly you have no idea what you are talking about.

For a Broncos fan...and such a big play in your history...you would think you would know what actually happened.

You are a Browns fan and you forgot about the Fumble???? How did I get it wrong? It was a fumble at the goalline to go to the Super Bowl, just as I said in my post.

The Fumble refers to a specific incident in the January 17, 1988 AFC Championship Game between the Cleveland Browns and the Denver Broncos.

During the game, the Broncos jumped to a 21-3 halftime lead, but Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar led them back with 4 second-half touchdowns. By the middle of the fourth quarter, the game was tied 31-31. The Broncos then took the lead on a long drive that ended with a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback John Elway to running back Sammy Winder, making the score 38-31 with 5 minutes left in the game. Cleveland responded by advancing the ball down to Denver's 2-yard line 1:12 left, setting the stage for the play that would make this game one of the most famous games in NFL Lore.

Browns running back Earnest Byner took a handoff and appeared to be on his way to score the game-tying touchdown. But he was stripped of the ball by Broncos defensive back Jeremiah Castille, and fumbled at the 3-yard line. The Broncos recovered the ball, gave the Browns an intentional safety, and went on to win 38-33. While Byner took a lot of heat from Browns fans and the media for his fumble, what is often overlooked is that he was one of the main reasons Cleveland came so close to winning the game. He had a superb performance with 67 rushing yards, 7 receptions for 120 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

How on Gods green earth could I EVER forget about the fumble. How could YOU?

I watched the game LIVE...You and Wike-whatever the fuck are WRONG!

Yes, the ball was fumbled at the 3, BUT...it was a FIRST DOWN (if I remember correctly...and I'm pretty sure I do)...at the 8 yard line

I and most people would NOT consider that a goal-line stand. Would you?

A stand could be 1 2 3 or 4 plays. If it's 1 play and a fumble....that's a stand because they forced a turnover. the fumble happened at the 3....Anything within the 5 is usually called a goalline stand.

Whatever you say...even if it's crap.

The play started at the 8 yard line. If you consider 1 play from the 8 a goal-line stand...then so be it.

Hey if you ask any football player, coach, anyone....if you ask them if they fumble within the 5 if it's at the goalline you will get a yes answer more than you will a no.

Now if you want to say a STAND is more than 1 play then I will agree with you this wasn't a stand, but I (quote I) think a stand is anything that STOPS the opponent from scoring...be it 1 or 10 plays.

Yeah i agree, a defensive series in the 5 usually is a goal line stand,

I think holding ground for 8 plays is more impressive than 2 though,
The eagles had all those chances to score and couldnt do nothing
Derrick Smith is hella underrated, i hope he matches last years #s and gets some recognition.......
